AltRider Crash Bars for Husqvarna TR650 Terra /Strada

The AltRider Crash Bars for the Husqvarna TR650 Terra and Strada are cut on a 5 axis laser for a perfect fit that equals strength. The design of the bars is engineered to provide full coverage for the radiator, fairings, and tank. In addition, the bars help protect the engine case covers by keeping the bike elevated in a crash.

100% made in the USA, the Husky bars utilize the strongest mounting points the bike has to offer. The upper mounts for the TR650 bars will insert directly into the frame while the lower mount utilizes a compression fit at the frame down tube. The flanges that form the lower mounts are very stout, made of 3/16” stainless steel, and are placed directly next to the frame down tube, reducing leverage to prevent any bending in the flanges. Not only does this make for a very strong design but it keeps the bottom frame mounts open for skid plate installations. AltRider took the time to make the crash bars follow the design lines of the bike and highlight the Husqvarna badge.

Unlike other crash bars, the upper mounts are not flanges with a through bolt and aluminum spacer. AltRider chose not to use this design method because it puts the entire load onto the narrow shaft of the bolt. AltRider designed an integrated tube mount that efficiently distributes the load at impact into the frame. This unique upper mounts provide good clearance for the rider’s knee and no exposed fasteners. The crash bars are manufactured with a CNC mandrel bender yielding extreme precision and the most strength as the mandrel prevents the tube from crushing during bending. AltRider bars are always designed with the bike and rider in mind, and are ready to be mounted right out of the box.

  • 1” diameter stainless steel with a wall thickness of 0.082”
  • Hand TIG welded for additional strength and craftsmen beauty

  • Designed to follow the frame closely to provide the most knee and leg clearance
  • Unique upper mounts provide good clearance for the riders need, and no exposed fasteners
  • Quick and easy installation with all hardware for install included
  • Stainless steel hardware
  • Full coverage of the radiator, fairings and tank

Good looking and burly crash bars As a newcomer to the dual sport/adventure bike genre (Harley rider for 30 years), I wanted gear to protect me & my ride in the case of the inevitable contact with the ground! Along with the skid plate, crash bars were a necessity for my bare bones Terra. I liked the lines of the Alt Rider bars, I think in the event of ground contact, they will save a lot of grief. Pretty easy to install, the front two bolts are a little difficult but not too bad. My one complaint is that I am a tall guy (6'2") and my knees hit the bars. I am going to be getting a new seat, hope to solve that one by being back farther. December 29, 2014
Well Designed, Reasonably Light I've never been a crash bars kinda guy as I don't mind the idea of adding some character to a motorcycle via scratched plastics. But, once you ride your Husqvarna Terra/Strada for a while you realize the radiator is bit vulnerable in a tip over..mainly when I tipped over for my first time and missed a rock by only a few inches. I *could* have been seriously stranded in the back country spewing coolant and cursing to myself. So, I went the Altrider and not only impressed with the design I saw--was even more impressed with the relative lightness of the stainless steel bars. Installation was easy, made sense, and added a large degree of rigidity, without compromising too much on the looks of the bike. *If* I tip over I feel much more confident the radiator won't crack or mounts get torn up. Bonus was I know have some extra real estate to mount my Go Pro and/or other farkles. November 11, 2013
Alt Rider TR650 Terra Crash Bars The bars appear to be very well made (made in USA) and integrate very nicely. Installation was a breeze and they even threw in a large torx bit for the fame bolts. While I haven't had to use them for their intended purpose, they sure look nice on my bike and I would buy them again. There was an update after they were installed so I contacted the manufacturer and the part was shipped n/c with no hassle. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend Revzilla and Alt Rider to anybody. October 28, 2013

Lee C: These are great! I have crashed at least twice in some serious deep mud and these have saved the radiator on my Husky
they are tough, a little scratched from rocks in the mud, but did not bend: I went down at over 35mph in the big mud area
(top of Avon mountain pass Huntsville / Cache Valley Utah): bent the handlebar and wasted both mirrors
