AltRider Crash Bars and Frame Slider Kit Ducati Multistrada 1200

A machine like the Multistrada requires the best protection available, which is why AltRider created these Crash Bars for the Ducati Multistrada 1200.

Made of 1 inch stainless steel, these crash bars are built with precision-manufactured mounts that integrate directly into the motorcycle’s frame through the motor mount. They are self-reinforced by a cross bar, and wrap protectively around the fairings, radiator and water pump. The AltRider Crash Bars are made with a shot peen satin finish, so even after the bike takes a spill the stainless bars will never show signs of rust.

Seamless installation of frame sliders rounds out an attractive and strong solution. Made from abrasion and impact resistant plastic, these sliders integrate seamlessly into the AltRider Crash Bar mount by attaching via billet aluminum offset, designed to effectively transfer the impact load to the crash bars. Because of the direct mount to the bars, the frame avoids damage that can occur in a crash when frame sliders are bolted directly to the frame itself.

The sliders utilize plastic with good lubrication and wear properties, so AltRider frame sliders can survive a longer slide than those made with other common materials. Additionally, the ability to resist impact is high, making the slider less likely to snap off or crack in a crash. AltRider also uses high strength chromoly steel rod instead of commonly used all-thread or stainless steel.

Specifications:

  • 1 inch stainless steel construction
  • Hand TIG welding
  • Includes frame sliders and chromoly steel bolt
  • Height: 16 inches
  • Width: 6 inches
  • Depth: 10 inches
  • Weight: 10 lbs

Ii looks like it would offer the most protection. I hope i never have to test it. Appears to offer the most protection compared to the rest available on the market July 14, 2014
You need this I have mix feelings about this part: 1. This part will save your bike from most spills hands down. 2. The built of it and the ingenuity behind the design are excellent. 3. I will buy the item again but...I am disappointed with the silver color. It is showing signs of rust. I keep my bike garaged indoor. I rarely ride on the rain, and when I do, I always dry the bike up. I gave an average score on durability because of the small amount of rust showing; however, that being said, the item is a great product but I wish I had ordered the black. November 4, 2013
Nice fit and finish Great looking protection, high quality. Very easy to install if you are mechanically adept. August 26, 2013
Might look complicated, but the install is worth the effort. I purchased these for a Pikes Peak Multistrada a few months ago and theyve already paid for themselves in protecting the plastics from a low-speed drop. One of the major complaints that I hear is that the support bar is close to the radiator. After assembling these and doing a few strength tests I can tell you that any accident that is strong enough to bend these bars into the radiator will disable the rest of the motorcycle and probably the rider. The fit and finish is top notch and the instructions were very descriptive aside from not showing the two screws that hold the two beak pieces together. I would still recommend these bars to anyone. RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
MARC G: Free shipping and zilla cash reward. Jul 31, 2014
Philip B: Because the manufacturer gave an honest answer on the Multistrada board. He suggested that a poster look at all the competing brands available, and merely mentioned that his product was but one of the choices. This is very refreshing, instead of hype, and insults about "Brand X". Apr 4, 2014
Caesar W asked: I wonder if altrider crash bar would fit multistrada gran turismo or any multistrada model that has Ducati LED fog light installed? The radiator bar seems to block the fog light after installation. Would appreciate if your product team could verify this for me before I made the purchase. Thanks. Jan 6, 2014

paul h: I am not familiar with the Ducati LED fog light, so I do not know if the Altrider crash bar would interfere. I installed fog lights on this crash bar near the fork of a 2011 1200S - it works very well.

Caesar W: The Ducati LED fog light is mounted on a bracket that goes between the upper radiator leg/mount and the bike's trellis frame. The same place where the crash bar L-shaped bracket to be installed onto. From the drawing, mic an tell that the radiator bar and the 2 L-shaped bracket will obstruct the LED Fog light. I could be wrong, but I need to ask if anyone here has got the same experience with the setup as mine, to be sure. Jan 7, 2014
ken w: Caesar, which year of MTS? and in the case that the crossbar does block your fog lights can they be relocated? BTW the Altrider crash bars fit like a glove and are worth the $. Hope this helped, ride safe. kw Jan 7, 2014

Caesar W: Hi Ken, thanks for your reply. Mine is 2013 model. Alt-rider crash bar will hit my fog lights for sure. I'm now considering to install just the alt-rider's frame slider only, onto Ducati OEM crash bar. I hope it will work. Jan 16, 2014
