A machine like the Multistrada requires the best protection available, which is why AltRider has created the AltRider Crash Bars for the Ducati Multistrada 1200.
Made of 1 inch stainless steel, these crash bars are built with precision-manufactured mounts that integrate directly into the motorcycle’s frame through the motor mount. They are self-reinforced by a cross bar, and wrap protectively around the fairings, radiator and water pump.
The AltRider Crash Bars are made with a shot peen satin finish, so even after the bike takes a spill the stainless bars will never show signs of rust.
Seamless installation of the AltRider Frame Sliders (available separately) rounds out an attractive and strong solution.
poor quality--cracked at contact point
I like to look and finish of these crash bars, but one of my bars has cracked/split at the main aft contact point. The bike did not fall over onto the bar and nothing impacted the bar. There is not a scratch on it! I am not a metallurgist or anything like that, but I do own a sailboat and I am quite familiar with stainless steel products and their performance levels. Stainless steel should not break like this. Cheap, inferior steel, yes, but NOT stainless steel. I would think twice about buying these bars from AltRider.

The fit and finish on this product could not be better, the install any easier.
Pros: fit/finish/install. Can be installed on the Duc in an hour with all the right tools. And of course, that outstanding Zilla service.
Cons: a bit pricy.

This looks grate and went on easy
I would say this is a grate add on, But I have seen a bike like mine that went down and the crash bars went into the radiator and it had to be replaced. Now that bike did not have the frame sliders on it, and I do so maybe that will add better protection. I know there is no way to know how you mite go down, but I hope I don't test that part of mine.

These bars fit the bike perfectly and look great.
I'm very pleased with the look and ease of installation. The bars are still a little pricey, but there are not many other choices out there for this Ducati.

Phillip C:I'm not a Ducati dealer by any means , however the bodywork that the barwork encapsulates on the MTS 1200 appears to be the same on both versions of the Multistrada , I believe that it would be a straight fit to be honest , and having said that it is a very EASY task ! Highly recommended product !Oct 28, 2013
