AltRider BMW F800GS Crash Bars
Rough terrain can get the better of anyone, which is why we designed the AltRider Crash Bars for the BMW F 800 GS. Made from one inch stainless steel, it is sure to protect your engine in a fall.
These crash bars provide extensive coverage for the F 800 GS, guarding not only the engine itself but also the radiator and front plastics.
The bars are built with precision-manufactured mounts that fit directly into the existing motor mount, creating a robust connection that is secured with existing OEM fasteners on the top engine mounts. Torx fasteners are provided for the bottom mounts.
Unlike other crash bars, these do not use flanges or weak tabs and are not hung: they are actually mounted. Crafted with hand TIG welding, these black powder-coated stainless bars will hold up in spills and never even show signs of rust.
Protect your clutch cover, radiator, and front fairings with the system that doesn’t deflect or bend.

I probably won't test the crashworthiness of these anytime soon but they are definitely stout. Once these things are mounted, it seems impossible to deflect them. I didn't rate the performance or durability because I haven't put a whole lot of off-road miles on my f800GS. I don't plan on doing it myself but it looks as though these bars would expand farkle-mounting options exponentially. As for RevZilla, I can't say enough good things.

It took me just 10 minutes to install these crash bars in my F800GS. Instructions were very clear.
The crash bars are well finished and really look great on the bike. I do recommend this product.

The bars fit perfectly. I bought the bare stainless so there are no scratches to touch up. They are very stout and give good coverage for the plastics and radiator. I've only dropped the bike once on them and it was a soft drop, but not a scratch on the bike. Pleased with the product.

These bars are reasonably light, beatifully made and pretty mean looking to boot .
The altrider kit is certainly worth the extra few $ if your looking for a keeper. The install is a no brainer and as per my experience with altrider kit it fits perfectly

I think these bars should work well in a crash. They are not as tightly contoured to the bike as some other bars on the market. Which should prevent the bars from contacting the bike if they do bend! They also clear me knees well, which was a concern (6'2") Good construction, clean welds.

These showed up 4 days after I ordered them, a week before the bike even did. first impressions were great: flawless finish, awesome instructions, and the packaging... I kid you not, it will take you longer to unwrap them than install them. I didnt even know they made self adhesive bubble wrap. Three layers of packaging! In all, about 10 minutes to put them on. I'll be crash testing them in Moab this week, so we'll see if they really are as tough as they look and feel.

Its a very well made product. The install was a bit hard. The holes have no play in them so it makes it difficult to screw in all the screws without a bit of man-handling. Other than that no complaints. It looks good, its out of the way of the knees, and it was a good price.
