Alpinestars Viper Air Jacket
Great jacket, buy two while stocks last!
What a great jacket! Americans - order a size up, it's a spot on fit for European sizes, that means a little small by US standards.
I've been wearing this jacket now for a couple of weeks, morning rides into work at around 50f are warm with the lining in, afternoon rides home at 80+ are cool with the lining removed.
The lining is so thin and light it fits into one of the side pockets on my tank bag.
It looks good, fits well, is well made and durable, hopefully I'll never put the protective qualities to the test, but it feels rugged enough.
Definitely on my recommended list.

Probably the best you can do for the money
-versatile jacket for temps around 55deg+
-better coverage of hard points than other jackets with options to upgrade later
-good venting with options to open it up a bit
-doesn't grind on my neck
-sleeves a bit long, with bright white material right down to the hand. it's gonna get dirty and ruin the look... so why?
-why no 2nd napoleon pocket?
No big issues really.

Does the job
- Price point.
- Cuffs are a little small. Had trouble fitting gauntlet-length gloves underneath.
- Hard to clean. Bugs and dirt stick in the mesh.
- Windproof liner feels cheap, doesn't do much.
- Rough collar lip. Irritated me after constant shoulder checks.
- Inner mesh pockets move/shift.

Reasonable summer jacket
The jacket has a good semi-slim cut, and it fits within the size chart guidelines. The Bio Armor pieces stay in place fairly well, though the elbow pads have a tendency to easily move around unless your arms really fill out the jacket or you're wearing a heavier layer underneath (somewhat defeating the point of it being summer weight) as there's no way to cinch them into place. The optional Bio Armor (and I imagine the new Nucleon) back protection fits the protection pocket very well and provides some nice additional peace of mind without any real bulk.
The styling and branding are solid and the high visibility yellow really pops in bad lighting conditions. However, the reflective patches on the upper arms/chest and upper arms/back don't seem to actually reflect much of anything (tested with a camera flash as well as asking fellow riders after night rides) and are pretty useless. So if visibility is a concern the high-visibility version is ok but you're better off looking elsewhere.
If you end up in a position where you have to ride with this in some light rain it'll hold up pretty well except that the rain-liner vest doesn't come down the full length of the jacket and you'll quickly find your mid-section wet while the rest of you is still dry. On my particular jacket the vest liner's rain gutter isn't actually stitched properly and doesn't function very well so there may be some quality control issues. To be fair you really shouldn't ride with this in the rain but it is nice to have the option if an unexpected summer shower comes through.
I've put in about three months of riding with it and a few thousand miles and it's still holding up well. The non-mesh textile panels when fully zippered along with the wind/rain liner vest can help push this jacket into early fall if you've got some solid base layers but it's not something I'd suggest. With the liner out and the sleeve vents open this jacket flows a ton of air and it's excellent for really hot and humid summer days.

Great Jacket ....only issue is with the zippers
This is a great jacket and reasonably priced.
The main zipper is too small and has released/opened too easily from the bottom of the jacket. I promise I am not too fat for the jacket. I like the jacket so much I may try to find someone to put a more substantial zipper in.
Pocket zippers on bike jackets should close by pulling down....these you pull up to zip. And they don't have tails so you can grab and close them with your gloves on.

Great fit. Looks and feels amazing. airflow is good. Zipper pockets are a little further back than i would like. But overall a nice jacket.

I bought a used GP Two i believe alpinestars mesh jacket. I got an XL and it always fit really tight. I sold that and found this jacket and bought the 2XL and what a world of difference!
I am 6'4 210 with long arms. the jacket fits perfect! def go a size up. i cant wait to try out the airflow this weekend but knowing the aplinestars, it will flow great. Colors match my bike too!
Only thing i will do to improve it which is personal preference is upgrade all the pads to the bionic. i would suggest at least the backpad. but other that tons of protection and delivered in 2 days, cant beat it!
i mainly take trips, weekend warrior around, and maybe take the bike to work once a week. traffic and drivers really bad by my work so after almost getting hit a couple times, commuting was a no go. I am not a fast rider, just like cruising on my sv650, jacket works perfect to flow air and keep me cool in the summer!
