Good 3 season boot
I was looking for a good 3 season boot that was not overly flashy (I just wanted plain black), and I found that the A* Ridge exceeds all of my expectations. It's a little pricey for a basic boot, but not unreasonable, and since it's waterproof there is very little airflow. That said, I am extremely happy with the purchase and they are great boots. They are comfortable and can be worn all day long without issue. Ankle support is excellent and I am confident that if I went down in them, my feet and ankles would be protected well.

For anyone needing size references, I wear a US size 10.5 shoe and bought these in 45 which fit me perfect.

Pleased with these boots
This is my first pair of Alpinestar riding boots and I am quite pleased with them. The Velcro lashes do a good job of securing the boot snugly and comfortably. Hopefully the Velcro won't wear out before the boots do.

My only complaint would be that the soles seem more slippery than on my previous boots. Perhaps that will improve as I wear them longer and the soles roughen up more. I also wish the soles had deeper profiles.

Don

90 day review
I went from Dirt Bikes to a BMW F800GSA, this is a great boot. So far no issues BUT I have only used these boots in the Las Vegas winter months. Hopefully they will not turn into a oven during the HOT summer time.

They fit my wide feet. After break in, they feel even better.
I'm a size 13 E, which is wide, and I ordered the 14's on a whim and they actually fit quite well. They were a little tight and stiff at first but after breaking in, they fit great. Build quality, they are pretty good, worth the price so far. Hopefully they last!

Lots of value for the price.
The boot fit perfect right out of the box but I did order a half size bigger. My first ride went thru a rain storm of biblical proportions, with zero problems. These boots are a little warm on 90 degree days but should be perfect for the other three seasons and very comfortable to walk in. Alpinestars, known for higher end boots, hit the ball out of the park with these entry level priced waterproof boots.

Good Not Great!
I like this boots. They're comfortable, but just a bit narrow for my tatse though it does not affect the comfort.

The velcro is not great. It tends to come loose on my right side here and there as I walk.

Waterproof wise they good, not great. A bit of water snuck in even while having raining gear on and driving at only +/- 50mph.

With proper sucks, they do keep the cold out. Even without winter socks you'd be good if you're only driving around town. But if you're on the highway then put some darn warm socks on.

The grip is not great on my brake if it's wet or in slippery surfaces like tiles. If your boots are wet, watch your step on tiles...TRUST ME!

The 4 stars goes mostly for comfort than anything else...

Quality boot for the price
I had the previous version. I really liked the look of the new style. I like the look and feel of the boots. they go on easy. My only problem with them is that it is not easy to open and close them as the velcro and strap are on the outside of the boot.. When you have riding pants on, this is not a easy task. The soles gives a solid grip, without being to soft that they wear quickly.

Comfortable but
I liked this boots while they performed. A few months into them the velcro had a hard time and comes loose too often. No matter how much you try to clean them, the velcro keep getting loose.

Protection? They're good. Comfort? Nice. Waterproof? Indeed. Velcro? SUCKS!

I've been wearing a pair of these boots for almost 5 years and 90,000 miles and they are "starting" to show some minor cracking on top of the boot. Even though they aren't leaking yet and my wife wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas I thought it would be prudent to get a new pair now. With the good performance of my first pair there was no need to shop for something else.

Question about fit. I wear US 9.5 size sneakers, what size should I choose for these boots? Thank you very much for your help.
MAURICIO ABISAY L on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have these and ordered a 10.5, which is my standard size. The fit is perfect!
How is the ankle protection on it? How does it compare to the ankle protection of the MX-2 (which has very good ankle protection)?
A shopper on Feb 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not familiar with the MX-2 boots so I don't know how they compare. I purchased these boots for my 50+ mile commute everyday on my Goldwing and have been very satisfied with them. The seem to offer decent ankle protection (not to the level of my MX boots - Gaerne SG12 but good for street boots), are warm, and comfortable enough to wear all day at work. I don't typically ride in the rain so I can't comment on waterproofing. However, I definitely recommend them. Note: follow Revzilla's sizing guide. I wear a 10.5 shoe but these are listed as 9.5 and fit perfectly.
Love how this boot looks, but wondering about how tall the toe portion is, from bottom of sole to top of toe? My bike has a small height from foot rests to gear shift lever. Does the toe portion become more flexible after time? Would love to purchase these, but I need some help! Thanks!
A shopper on Oct 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The toe box does have a little flex, but not much. I have had no issues with shifting on various bikes.
