Why did you choose this?
RevZilla Store
Quality versus price RevZilla always offert the best quality and lower price than other distributors.
Gerard Jr M on Mar 19, 2015
Promised: Good abrasion resistance, adequate breathability for multiple seasons, and good sizing.

I'm looking for safety, comfort and convenience. With pants designed for riding I hope to get all three. The safety promised by Alpinestar has been borne out by the experience of my friends. The comfort has been proven by trying on similar items at stores for twice as much. The convenience? We'll see!

protection / airflow
MTVRoadGlide on Dec 28, 2014
I needed some overpants that are protective and practical for everyday riding and commuting and high enough quality for road trips. These look like they will do very well.
Dylley on Dec 21, 2014
Because of the protection and airflow qualities and being an overpant, I'll get more abrasion resistance from my jeans underneath and from the overpant itself.
dmanfraser on Dec 5, 2014
I commute in a warm climate. Hopefully these will work well over shorts and provide protection while staying reasonably cool.

Trusted brand, good Revzilla reviews, on sale, video showed nice features, and you need ventilated gear to ride in the big ATL.
Taylor S on Oct 17, 2014
very protective and easely transportable in a backpack when not riding

Hot Arizona summers. Shins still get sweaty(no mesh area) waist clasp broke after a couple months. AStars sent me a replacement snap-button type(for free).

Commuting and comfort on the road. I would rather slide in these than in my denim jeans.

Needed a great pair of pants to match-up with two great Alpinestar Jackets.
Leon H on Feb 15, 2014
I thought I would free ball it in these on hot days. Never did for the lack of complete confidence in textile/mesh pants. Plus carpet burn would not be pleasant. They zip to my A* Indy jacket, keep you a bit warm on cooler days, at the same time keeping you cool on hot days. Somewhat. The black absorbs heat from the direct sunshine. They worked great paired with padded riding shorts.

looking for some extra protection over my jeans when I ride to work in the summer.

I needed some pants to go over my work pants on my commute to work. These pants are great and get good airflow when you are moving.

I wear size 13 boots. Will I be able to pull these pants over my boots, or have to take my boots off first?
Dylan E on Aug 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There's a velcro strap on the ankle which allows you to adjust the circumference of the opening.

Furthermore, the zipper on the leg goes all the way up the knees, so you can leave your boots on as you get in and out of these pants.
Do these pants have any hip or coccyx padding/protection?
A shopper on Jun 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There was some flimsy foam padding for the hips. This seemed to be the standard with the mesh pants. So, I modified the hip pad pocket to accept a pair of d30 hip pads. This worked great.
I'm 6 ft tall and have a 36" waist. Would the L or XL fit me better?
Pat V on Oct 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm 5'10" 200lbs w/ 38" waist and the XL pants are slightly too small around the waist (with shorts/pants on underneath). Also they're a couple inches too long so I would say the XL would be perfect for ya. The sinches on the side will help with the fit as well. Also make sure to get the updated ones with the venting on the shins. I sweat like crazy when the temps are >90 degrees with the older non-vented version.
I'm 6 ft tall, 35/36 in waist. Would an L or an XL be better for me?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I bought this pant for my son almost two years ago as a gift. He's 6'1' about 195 lbs and athletic with large thighs but a 33 waist. Same question as to best fit L or the bigger in the waist XL. We went XL and it was the right decision. The knee pads fit in the right place and the waist was not too large to adjust to a snug fit.. It's been in constant use and still in great condition..
Anyone know if these pants will zip into the Jaws perforated leather jacket?
Jonathan C on Jan 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They should. I have two A* jackets that zip into these fine.
The description says it will zip in to "selected Alpinestars leather and textile jackets". Will these be compatible with my new Alpinestars GP Plus R jacket? Thanks
Chad H on May 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't have that exact jacket but all their stuff is compatible. They don't do a good job describing it but the "selected" part refers to items with zippers; their wording makes it sound like there are different types of zippers.

If the top says it fits bottoms and the bottoms stay they fit tops, they fit. It's really that simple.

What they should say though is, "Fits all Alpinestars pants that zip together with jackets" and for pants, "Fits all Alpinestars jackets that zip together with pants.
I ordered these in 2XL since i wear 40" waist jeans. Unfortunately, they were way too small (to use as over pants). I am wondering if they will be large enough if I bump up to 3XL Revzilla was great with the return and all. I just don't want to keep going back and forth. Are there are other over pants folks would recommend instead?
Mike222 on Apr 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Mike, I think you'd be hard pressed to actually use these as an overpant with a 40" waist, if you have large thighs. I bumped up from an XL to XXL and still have ZERO room in the thighs. They are snug. If I wear anything other than boxer briefs, I legitimately think I'm going to tear them and it's uncomfortable because whatever I'm wearing underneath is scrunched up. I have larger than normal muscular thighs, but they're not HUGE. And for the record, I'm in between 36" and 38" waist jeans, with a 34" inseam. I have no issues with the length, my issues are in the thigh room and waist. If the increase from XXL to 3XL is anything like the increase from XL to XXL (jwhich was relatively minor), I'd probably need a 4XL to use these as an over pant for jeans. I might be able to get away with a 3XL as an over pant for suit pants though.
I am pretty thin and tall. Usually wear a 31x32 or 31x34 size for jeans. Do you think a medium will fit?
Matt D on Sep 17, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I'm 6'2" and generally wear a 33/34-34 jeans. I went with the large since I wear them as overpants and the waist is perfect. The length on them is good but the knee armor is a little high on me so it rides up over my knee on longer rides. I ride an SV650 on stock pegs so take that for what it's worth with respect to leg position.
