Alpinestars Lite Backpack
Great commuter/daily bag
I use this everyday for my commute to work. Laptop sleeve is great. Snuggly fits my Mac Pro and is well padded. Next "paper" sleeve (as I like to call it) is good for small thin items. Folders and papers really (hence the name).
Main space is good and a decent size. I can fit a laptop charger and all my gym clothes and shoes in just fine. Mesh zip pocket is a bit shallow though. With the bag so full, it gets in the way a bit. Would be better if they made it a bit deeper and offset to the outside soft-lined pocket. Currently all I have in the outer pocket are my sunglasses and that is even a stretch when the bag is full.
Have yet to use this long enough to test durability. Only worry are the zippers. They don't feel as sturdy as my old backpack. (North Face Recon daypack)
Styling I love. Sleek minimalist design. Color is nice and subtle.

Strap was not stitched on securely
After about 3 weeks of constant use the left strap ripped off from the top. The bag was not being abused in any way. I was putting the bag on and I went to clip the strap in and it ripped off and I had to ride 20 miles to work with one strap.

Nice looking, but poorly constructed.
I had only used this backpack 5-6 times during my commute to work when the top of the left strap tore off while I was removing it after getting off the bike. At that point the bag contained my laptop (not heavy), my clothes, and unfortunately a soda which proceeded to explode all over everything else I had in the backpack when it fell to the ground. Not a good way to start out the workweek.
My basic feeling is that this is a nice looking backpack, but it is not built very well. I am just glad it didn't fall apart while I was actually riding. I have to question why something so simple as taking the backpack off would be enough stress to cause the strap to finally tear loose.
If you only plan to carry lightweight items in the backpack, don't want to spend a ton of money on a better-built product, and want something that looks nice, this might be OK for you, but honestly I was expecting MUCH higher quality from Alpinestars given my experience with their other products.
I would definitely steer away any of my friends or fellow riders from buying this backpack. It seems like it's built for looks, not durability.

Would be a nice bag, but poorly made.
Bag lasted about 4 rides before the strap broke when I was putting it on. Not worth the price.

Just the right size!
I was looking for a pack for commuting that was not too big, was water resistant, and would last! I believe the alpinestar's lite backpack fits that bill. But the main feature that sold me on it was the quick release on the left arm strap. As a bigger guy getting a pack on and off with a jacket on was a near impossible task. Not with the alpinestar's lite pack. The quick release makes putting the pack on or off extremely easy. The pack seems to be made well and the zippers are qualiity.

It goes good with a green Ninja
This Backpack feels durable and well constructed. It has a good design and the green one goes good with a green ninja. It keeps water out and is very comfortable. I would like it to have more pockets and to be a little bigger. It can carry your laptop and school stuff but it would get full with a hoodie. I recomend it but be aware the space is limited.

Keeps your stuff dry
So far I've had my bag for 90 days and its been used everyday since. It has been great for school and weekend trips, it seems to have just enough space. Usually holds 2 1/2 days worth of clothes, or two textbooks, a laptop, a couple notebooks and folders. As far as weather goes this thing stands up to the rain and snow without a problem downpour or light drizzle. Barely notice it while riding, comfortable straps that prevent a lot of movement. I'm a little nervous about the craftsmanship but well see how long the bag holds up.
