Scout trooper backpack This bag is what a Scout Trooper would use. Have had this bag for about a month now. Construction: Its durable and well made. Feels solid and the construction is top notch. Zips are strong and the materials are tough. Water: I've been in rain twice on my 30min commute to university. Neither time I used the raincover, bag was wet but insides were dry. Ergo: the rider harness system is a bit of a gimmick, I've got the bag on over my leather jacket putting it on the opposite way (I am left handed, I put left side on first, then right) without need for quick release strap. So many pockets! It's almost like combat webbing in backpack form! I need to get more stuff, just so I can use every pocket. Carrying: I've managed to carry a lot of stuff, including a full load of fruit and vege from the grocer. Not as big as I would like but there are alternatives if you want to carry armloads. Fits a 15" laptop without hassle or affecting ability to carry other stuff. Great bag, perfect for university of work commute. April 9, 2015
Good for what it is Quality one would expect from A*. Fit and finish is awesome. Very comfortable on the bike. I thought it was going to be bigger but that's on me. My only real complaint is with the "change/keys" pocket on the waist strap. It's real tiny. Can't even fit my name badge for work into it. Forget about a cell phone. Saw a lot of complaints about the zippers but I don't have any issues personally. March 30, 2015
Usually can't go wrong with astar I got this bag as a replacement of 2.5 year old deploy backpack. The charger is a decent daily commuter, but often I have a hard time to fit all the things I need in the day. On my overnight rides when I have to take more I break out the deploy. I really wish they still made those. I'm mostly writing this review because after 5 months of use, one of the zipper handles of the main compartment broke. The cross bar that hooks into the zipper is much thinner than even the other compartment zipper. I didn't expect to run into troubles so soon with an astar product. Also, I noticed from the beginning that the zipper of the smaller compartment is difficult to open/close with one hand; it gets caught at the corners. The coating/finish? on the red section of the red/black bag has been falling apart. A couple cool things I appreciated was the buckle on the shoulder strap making it easier to put on and take off as well as padding on the back allowing for airflow. January 8, 2015
Great for daily commuting! This is a great backpack for daily commuting and short trips! I just wish Astars would make a 35L model of this backpack with a little bit beefier straps for a 72 hour trip type of bag. November 17, 2014
Great small bag Great bag. I take it when I ride and I plan on buying something. But I also use it as an everyday bag. Fits my 15 inch laptop and cooling stand plus a bunch of other things in the small section. Looks like it would make a decent school bag because it has dividers to separate papers. Overall a good 1 day bag. Very comfortable to wear. Now I'm off for another that is bigger for longer trips. October 12, 2014
Top Notch Commuter Backpack Traded in the OGIO No Drag for this backpack and I don't regret it one bit. The Charger is exactly what I was looking for to fit my needs. If you are looking for a backpack that's geared towards commuting and school/work, this is for you. The quality is top notch and the 20L size is a lot bigger than you would think. Both of these factors translates into some incredible practicality points for this backpack. Another awesome feature is airflow. I've been wearing this for the last half of the summer (in 90° F - 101° F) and I barely sweat. To top it all off, the Black/Fluo Yellow color is awesome for Hi-Viz! Really pops and looks great! If there is one thing I had to gripe about, it would be the "easy access change/key pocket" in the waist strap. I find it too small/tight to fit anything in it. I don't even use it.. Other than that, no complaints about this backpack. Haven't had to use the waterproof cover yet but I'm confident it'll perform very well. Definitely recommend this backpack! September 23, 2014
comfort and function I needed a pack that would allow me to ride and accommodate my 17" laptop. this pack works, great. September 1, 2014
Stylish, practical and feature packed backpack This motorcycle specific backpack features 2 compartments for holding your laptop, tablet, and other commuting essentials. It's just the right size for carrying small packages, documents and personal electronics. It's water resistant, which means, if it's a light rain, while riding, the contents will stay dry. The smaller front compartment features a waterproof zipper while the larger compartment's zipper is covered by a flap. The backpack's padding and air flow around your back is excellent: comfortable and never feels hot. The quick release buckle on the left shoulder strap is very clever design idea. When fully loaded, the backpack's dual straps; across the waist and across the chest, keep the backpack from sliding around. Highly recommended if you're looking for a backpack that's not too big and not too small and perfect for commuting. September 1, 2014

Andrew K asked: I have 17" laptop. What are the dimensions of the laptop slot? If you use it to carry your laptop, do you have sufficient space after it is in there? Oct 31, 2014

Marcelo F: A 17" laptop will not fit properly. I think the largest laptop that can be carried is about 14" or 15". Actually I have tried storing a 15" one and it fit very tightly. Nov 3, 2014

Alexander Z: It can be done, but it is a very tight fit! If you're going to carry around your laptop in this bag daily or somewhat daily. then I suggest a different bag. Nov 2, 2014

TRAVIS V asked: Is the waist strap removable? Sep 26, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gabriel D: No, not on mine. The bag is great but my feedback is that zippers are tough to open sometimes given they are inside the water-proof sleeves that follow the bag openings. Another thing I noticed is that the straps are starting to show signs of wear and tear. Bag is very practical though, tons of pockets, compartments, looks great, I like it just not perfect. Hope this helps. Sep 26, 2014

Marcelo F: No, it is not. I had the same concern as you, since I didn`t like the waist strap and I found it was no necesary. So I ended cuting it with scissors. Sep 26, 2014

A shopper asked: I work in a mining environment and my boots have a met guard And are rather large and difficult to ride in. Would a larger 10in pair of boots fit inside this pack? Dec 12, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JASON S: Probably - but with nothing else. The interior of the pack has light weight mesh pockets and pen holders - it is more like a brief case than a ruck sac. Sounds like you need some more rugged. Dec 12, 2014

Nathan S: Highly doubt it, this is a fairly small backpack big enough for a laptop and a few textbooks, it barely held enough clothes and an extra pair of shoes for a weekend trip Dec 12, 2014

Steven M: If that were the only thing you want to fit in the main compartment, I think they would fit. Otherwise I would get something larger. Dec 12, 2014
