. I really like these riding pants.
I tried 3 pairs of pants before I locked onto these. I'm 6 feet 2 / 180 pounds. I took the 36 inch waist. Even with the hip pads the pants still fit around my waist. I rode in these pants in all types of weather. On the last day of the rally I was caught in a rain storm w/o any rain gear. Pants performed better than I expected. The extra padding in the knees and in the hip areas kept me warmer in the cooler weather. But on the warmer days I didn't think they added any extra heat. The day it rained - the padding kept the wet cloth off my legs. I liked the way the pants looked as I walked around in them when I was off the scooter. The body armor didn't distract from the appearance of the jean .
I felt a little safer knowing I was wearing these pants too.

Great jeans
Seems like everything else from AlpineStars runs small, even WAY small. But these jeans were spot-on.

I usually buy regular jeans in 36 x 34, perfect fit.

Very nice Jeans
I just pulled these out of the box today. I was worried about them being too light in color, as in the picture they look stonewashed, like that old-school jean color. They are not. They are a lot darker, just like they appear in the video. They feel heavy and of good quality. Kevlar in the seat and knees. Knee pads and very thing hip pads (you don't even notice them). I am 6ft 175 lbs. I wear a 32x32 levis and a 33x32 old navy. I ordered the 32. They fit around the waist like my 33's. The length is fine, maybe just slightly long when standing, but you want that when you're tucked up on the bike. I don't know about protection, but I know these are better than regular jeans. You could easily just wear them out and about and look pretty cool. Good buy :)

Great Riding Jeans!
I had bought and returned 3 pairs of jeans because they all just didn't fit right. I was simply looking for a regular pair of jeans that had some added protection to them. These are it. The fit and feel like a pair of Levis but have Kevlar in the hips and knees. Plus the optional pads that come with the jeans. There jeans are just great. I like the look too. Not too flashy - just simple blue jeans. The fit is almost exactly as stated. I'm a 38 x 30 and the 38's fit me great. I am having the legs hemmed as expected.

Good features
While I do feel more protected wearing these jeans than I do wearing regular jeans, they feel big to size and fit irregular. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs, athletic build and wear 36/34 jeans. So I ordered size 36. The waist is a little big even with the hip pads in (will fit great with cold weather gear) and the length is too long (I've been wearing them with the cuffs rolled up, considering having them hemmed that way). They said the knee pads were adjustable. If they mean they move up when you're sitting on the bike, then they are. They cannot be adjusted into a set position while off the bike. Wearing them, I feel like I look in my youth football picture when my knee pads were down around my shins. I like the removable hip and knee pads and do feel protected.

The great value make this product a bargan
I have tried many brands over the year trying to find a combination of fit and protection that is comfortable and promises effective protection. Why I waited until now to try Alpinestar I can only attribute to a short sighted thriftiness ... I just couldn't bring myself to spend the extra money for what I perceived as a brand name. After dealing with ill fitting "price line" examples finally out of frustration I spent the money on the Alpinestars ... I'll never buy another brand!

With a fit loose enough to be comfortable but not so stylishly loose as to flap uncomfortably these pants are more comfortable with the optional armor than my other unarmored pants.

This produce proves the old adage that you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

The fit is perfect.
I normally see gear coming in a size too small, but these fit perfect. I would purchase these again now that I have tried them.

Overall great product.
I like these pants. Size is exactly right. If you want to use the protection that comes withdepending on size you should go one size bigger. Specially the hip protection. I don't like the knrest protection so much because they are in weird location and you can't adjust them.
Length was perfect.
Haven't tried falling with them but hopefully they last better the. Regular jeans.

Great to use for relaxing rides, like bike nights, and they are surprisingly comfortable.

Seems to be a good pair of riding jeans and the reviews were all excellent. They also have protection on the knee and hip which would provide some additional protection, hopefully I won't need them.

Last piece of gear I needed was some leg protection. Now I can enjoy full protection and keep the jean look which is a plus in my book. The closeout pricing also played a role, as it dropped this pair of jeans right into my budget.

Because I thought they would be a good pair of casual/riding jeans. But boy was I wrong, uncomfortable in the saddle and far too baggy.

Great looking kevlar and lightly armored jean I could wear all day at work.

I prefer a loose fit jean. My casual jeans are normally a Levi 569. I hope this pant has a similar fit. I choose it for that, and the lighter denim color, which seems to be kind of rare these days for riding jeans.

I have a pair of Dainese jeans that are super tight on my legs and crotch. I can barely lift my leg over the saddle to mount my bike. I decided to change brands and try a relaxed fit pair of jeans. Italians must have really skinny legs.

The description does not indicate the hip protector as being CE rated. Is it possible to replace the hip protector with a CE rated hip protector such as the Rev'It seesoft hip protector or the Klim D3O hip protector?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: yes, you can interchange the armor. I had some armor from my Klim pants and they fit just fine.
Any advice on which size would be best for a measured 33 in. Waist?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I bought some 34's and they are too baggy on the waist and way too baggy along the legs, Although I think that's just to do with the cut. Im going to try and see if I can get them taken in but I do kinda wish I had just bought some textile pants to slip over whatever im wearing, as the pads in these jeans make them impractical to just hang out it. Hope that helps..
