good value jeans IMO, jeans are really a personal choice in terms of fit. so what fits me or what I likely not work for others. that said I'm about a 32" waist and about 150 lbs. these jeans have more of a street looser fit which if you like the style are really comfortable. they seem long but if you wear boots they bunch up nicely. on a sneaker type shoe they might have to be hemmed depending on your height (I'm 5'9"). besides I HATE when my pants ride up in the wind so I wear boot straps and they work well with this length. armor is decent and better than nothing I'm sure. Decent value At the close out price these jeans are a good value. The hip protection is hardly noticeable and maybe even a little on the thin side, but better than nothing. The knee pads feel uncomfortable and seem like they might shift during a crash so I took them out and will continue wearing knee guards on the outside of the jeans. Sizing matched well with the size chart. I'm thin and have trouble finding women's jeans that fit right so tried these. The 28s are just right for me - even in length - at 5'7". I like that the jeans aren't flashy and they're also a normal blue jean color, not some weird shade of ugly bright blue. July 3, 2015
These don't fit like "jeans" and aren't made for tall people Disappointed in these and had to return them. I am 6'5" and 230lbs with a 36+ inseam and a 36 to 38 inch waist. Reviewers say these are cut "just like a pair of Levi's" but I disagree. The general shape through the butt and waist on these is a stovepipe, no tapering at all. My normal jeans both Levi's branded and others, have some amount of taper making the waist a little smaller than the butt, thus holding the pants up. In these, as soon as I sit and bend at the hip, the waist line pulls down. As such the waist rides low which might look fine standing around, but when I get on the bike and lean forward it's nothing but plumbers butt for the people behind me. Then there's the length - all this talk about longer inseams with larger waist sizes gave me hope - but alas these barely reached my ankles on my 36" inseam legs standing. Once I sat down in a chair (not even on a bike) the pulled up past the tops of my boots. I'd say, at best, these are a 34" inseam. Then there's the knee pads. They are centered on the front of the leg, which makes sense for design, but in actuality, once I got on the bike they wandered to the inside of my legs and did an excellent job padding my knee against the tank. I really would have liked to see the outer seam of the leg wrap to the outside and bring the knee pad with it. In all, really disappointed. Alpinestars has been doing this long enough to know how to design a pair of pants that fit a motorcyclist correctly. These aren't that. Sadly I'll continue to ride unprotected on my legs and search in earnest for clothing in a world where no-one cares that people are taller than 6' and do anything besides reach stuff on tall shelves for short people. Overall great product. I like these pants. Size is exactly right. If you want to use the protection that comes withdepending on size you should go one size bigger. Specially the hip protection. I don't like the knrest protection so much because they are in weird location and you can't adjust them. Length was perfect. Haven't tried falling with them but hopefully they last better the. Regular jeans. June 22, 2015
Great Riding Jeans! I had bought and returned 3 pairs of jeans because they all just didn't fit right. I was simply looking for a regular pair of jeans that had some added protection to them. These are it. The fit and feel like a pair of Levis but have Kevlar in the hips and knees. Plus the optional pads that come with the jeans. There jeans are just great. I like the look too. Not too flashy - just simple blue jeans. The fit is almost exactly as stated. I'm a 38 x 30 and the 38's fit me great. I am having the legs hemmed as expected. June 15, 2015
Good product and quality however questionable value Sizing was perfect (I wear and ordered size 32). Pads (hip & knee) offer minimal protection. Denim fabric is on the "heavy" side; better then standard pair of jeans. Good styling. Comfortable. A lot of money for the minimum protection afforded as opposed to just buying a heavy pair of work jeans, e.g. Carhartt. If you want true added protection in a pair of jeans then better buy a pair of Kevlar jeans. Or better yet, true riding protective gear. June 8, 2015
The fit is perfect. I normally see gear coming in a size too small, but these fit perfect. I would purchase these again now that I have tried them. June 8, 2015
Good Fit, Feel and Look. Padding seems to provide good protection. Good Fit, Feel and Look. Padding seems to provide good protection. April 6, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Nathan A: Last piece of gear I needed was some leg protection. Now I can enjoy full protection and keep the jean look which is a plus in my book. The closeout pricing also played a role, as it dropped this pair of jeans right into my budget. Aug 26, 2015
Nicolas S: Added protection to my commute. Aug 3, 2015

Martin S: I have owned Alpine Star gear before and it has always been well made and a good bang for the buck. Mar 1, 2015
Juan Carlos V: Brand name, added features, video explanation and price Dec 23, 2014
Sam B: Because I thought they would be a good pair of casual/riding jeans. But boy was I wrong, uncomfortable in the saddle and far too baggy. Sep 30, 2014
Robert G: Ride to job and use for work, great video. Thanks, Robert Apr 27, 2014
Allison H: Great looking kevlar and lightly armored jean I could wear all day at work. Apr 23, 2014
Chadrick D: I prefer a loose fit jean. My casual jeans are normally a Levi 569. I hope this pant has a similar fit. I choose it for that, and the lighter denim color, which seems to be kind of rare these days for riding jeans. Feb 23, 2014
Nancy O: read abut it at cycle world mag Jan 1, 2014
Kurt P: I have a pair of Dainese jeans that are super tight on my legs and crotch. I can barely lift my leg over the saddle to mount my bike. I decided to change brands and try a relaxed fit pair of jeans. Italians must have really skinny legs. Nov 30, 2013
Ariel P: I like the model Sep 8, 2013
A shopper asked: The description does not indicate the hip protector as being CE rated. Is it possible to replace the hip protector with a CE rated hip protector such as the Rev'It seesoft hip protector or the Klim D3O hip protector? Nov 22, 2014

Sam B: I bought some 34's and they are too baggy on the waist and way too baggy along the legs, Although I think that's just to do with the cut. Im going to try and see if I can get them taken in but I do kinda wish I had just bought some textile pants to slip over whatever im wearing, as the pads in these jeans make them impractical to just hang out it. Hope that helps.. Jan 2, 2014

Allison H: Go with the 34s. Better a bit loose than tight. I actually wash mine and dry them thus they shrink about an inch in the waist. Be advised it says to hand wash and air dry them. I don't know why that is the recommendation as dupont says the kevlar can be washed and dried without issue. Jan 1, 2014

Thomas G:
They fit pretty exact. Since there are no odd sizes, I would go up to a 34, just so you are comfortable. No sense in pinching your waist and losing focus during the ride.

Mark H: 32. I wear a 32x32 and a 33x32 in normal jeans. The 32's fit like me 33x32's. The hip pads are so thing they don't make any difference in or out. Sep 19, 2014
