Akrapovic's sporty and lightweight SLIP-ON system offers a great balance between price and performance and represents the first step in the exhaust system tuning process.
The muffler outer sleeve is made of titanium, which gives a special hi-tech touch.
Power & Torque: even as a base-level component, the Akrapovic Slip-On series system delivers a performance increase. The largest effect is shown on the torque curve, while the power curve is also increased, especially in the middle and at the top of the rpm range. The maximum power increase between the Akrapovic and the stock system is 2.1 HP at 5420 rpm. Additionally, the torque is substantially higher in the lower rpm area at 3000 rpm and in the middle to high rpm area.
NOTE: Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.
I bought this Slip-On for my BMW f800r and was not disappointed.
It was really easy to install and I didn't need to do anything else afterwards. Took the bike to my BMW dealer after just to make sure everything was in check with the computer and there were no problems.
This Slip-On is loud! (I took off the removable end to make it louder). It makes a round purring sound in low RPMs and sound great on the highway.
It is an expensive Slip-On but I would recommend it.
I notices substantial better performance in low RPMs and the bike just feels better.

A shopper asked:I understand the unit comes with a removable baffle. What effect does removing the baffle have on the engine performance and sound? Will removing the baffle have a negative effect on the performance of the engine, e.g. backfiring, lower fuel consumption, etc.), or effect the BMW warranty, and is the resulting dB from the pipe illegal in some states?Oct 15, 2013
George T:On the slip on system I purchased for the 2014 Interceptor, removal of the insert required minimal effort. One screw with a tiny tack weld, easily removed with an 8mm wrench, and judicious use of a vise-grip to pull the insert.. If you take a bit of care you won't mar the insert and then, it's easy to test for yourself whether you prefer it in or out. There is no notable fueling or other effect on this particular bike, but different bikes may exhibit different effects. Since this same exact can is sold in all Honda dealerships outside the USA as a listed accessory for the VFR I can't imagine there is any warranty effect.Sep 10, 2014
Michael F:Removing the baffle allows for exhaust to exit faster, slight decrease in fuel economy (35mpg), but after breaking in the exhaust, nice idle rumble, acceleration is smoother and effortless in my opinion and the sound isn't overwhelming but a nice smooth rumble. I believe the warranty is partial to the bike, but it would not affect the warranty of the exhaust itself. However, not having it "professionally installed might void the exhaust warranty. The higher db are illegal in some states, but you'll have to refer to your location's ordinances.Oct 16, 2013
Martin L:In terms of the baffle affecting engine performance, it is very minimal. It is so minimal that the difference can only be noticed if it was measured on a dyno. I live in California, and the current law states that the exhaust system must have a catalytic converter. If this slip-on system does not remove the stock catalytic converter, you are not violating any laws.
Warranty information explained above is pretty accurate.
Jose M:it s hardly removable. if you think its going to come off without some welding you are mistaken. safe your money or buy the remus. this thing is so silent you may as well keep the stock pipe onAug 15, 2014
A shopper asked:Hi there, I was wondering if anyone would know if this would fit the Husaqvarna Nuda 900 without too much hassle? It is basically the same bike, any information would be appreciated, cheers!Feb 22, 2014
Kevin W:Not sure about how the Husaqvarna is set up but, I installed on on my 2012 BMW F650GS. I just took the old one off and slid the new one on, used some pliers to install the new springs and bolted the new bracket on. It was very easy and only took about 10-15 minutes for the whole process. I'm not sure if this is helpful info for you but, good luck.Feb 22, 2014
Michael T:I'm not sure if it fits, I put this exhaust on my f800. The exhaust is larges I ended up shortening it down. Also there is the sticker that looks Chep.. I wasn't to thrilled about how it sounded but then again I'm new to a smaller 800ccFeb 28, 2014
