Akrapovic Racing Exhaust System Honda CBR600RR

The Akrapovic Racing Line has been designed specifically for demanding riders and represents an ideal balance between price and performance. The exhaust systems are dramatically lighter compared to stock exhaust systems and feature exceptional production quality and increased engine performance combined with pure racing sound output. The headers and mid-pipes are constructed of high-quality stainless steel conical tubes with precision handcrafting. A special process known as hydroforming is used in the manufacturing of the exhaust pipes. This process injects pressurized water into each tube to form the ideal shape for optimum exhaust flow without causing creases or compromising the strength of the steel.

Akrapovic Exhaust’s unique design enables them to obtain the maximum output for each specific model of motorcycle, while significantly reducing overall weight. It’s not just about peak power - Akrapovic exhaust systems deliver increased performance throughout the entire RPM range. Increased power and torque result in a much smoother ride. All Akrapovic exhaust system measurements are formulated on in-house computer-controlled flow benches.

The Racing Line is identical to Akrapovic’s top range Evolution Line exhaust systems, with the major difference being the material that is used for the headers and mid-pipes. The headers and mid-pipes of the Evolution Line are constructed exclusively of titanium while the Racing Line uses stainless steel.

Features:

  • High quality stainless steel headers and mid-pipes
  • No fuel remapping required, but for optimal performance RevZilla recommends use of a fuel controller
  • A combination of beautiful machine and hand welds
  • Patented hexagonal muffler
  • Lightweight, compact and high-temperature-resistant carbon fiber muffler clamp
  • CNC machined muffler inlet cap
  • Optimized to maximize lean angle
  • All carbon fiber parts are produced in-house
  • Air-tight quality controlled production means your exhaust will be perfect
  • High-quality, silicon-shielded stainless steel exhaust springs

Note: Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.

Laine C asked: I have a few questions about exhaust for my 2009 CBR RR....
1) only evolution for my bike or is the racing an option as well?
2) what power commander do you recommend with the evo exhaust and which for the race exhaust(if available)
3)Is there any other mods I should do at the same time as exhaust and power commander? ie... filters, electrical etc
4)does the exhaust come with all gaskets, hardware and anything else I might need other than tools?
5)what other materials would I need for additional parts? ie... parts for power commander, oils for filters etc
6) how tough are the power commanders to program and are there any flaws or bugs a guy should be aware of?

Tito L: 1) Akrapovic only produces an Evolution Full System for your bike.. (It's worth it in weight savings and appearance - turns blue and purple. Believe me!)
2) You can use any Fuel management system. DynoJet is very proven stuff. A lot of times these companies will have maps already designed for your a set up you are going for. Otherwise, it's best to have a professional dyno the bike and tune it from there. You can also combine the DynoJet PC with their Autotune system. That allows you to get the best air/fuel ratio on the fly.
3) An air filter wouldn't hurt. I recommend BMC personally. Just keep in mind, if you add an airfilter and full exhaust, you will definitely begin the path down the "lean" side. You'll want to get serious about getting that fuel mapping done.
4) These kits are great! They come with all of the parts and any screws you need. Typically they will reuse OEM gaskets, so you may want to order up another set just in case they don't look pretty. Often times they will utilize some of the OEM bolts and screws as well. Be sure to keep track of everything if you are installing yourself.
5) The whole exhaust comes in the box. You really don't need anything else.
6) The PC is easy to work with as long as you follow the instructions. You also will want to make sure there is a preset Map from DynoJet's website (or whatever brand you buy) that you can match to your bike. For example: Map for CBR600RR w/ Akrapovic EVO Full System w/ Air Filter - something like that... Just check their site out, plug your bike in and you'll be able to click on downloadable maps.

Last thing.... These Akrapovic full systems are designed to work with your OEM fuel mapping. They are plug and play unlike most full exhaust systems that require mapping. The bright side is, that if you take to the hands of a pro, you can definitely see gains in performance. However, that is true with your stock exhaust as well. The difference is the unrestricted airflow and weight savings. Pretty too.
