Power & Torque: The exhaust system modification with the SLIP-ON OPEN and optional link pipe system results in a major boost in performance, delivering a massive 117.2 HP at 14100 rpm on back wheel. But the increased power isn’t available just at the top of the range; the system shows its quality already from 4000 rpm up through entire rpm range. Max. increased power between the Akrapovic and the stock system is 2.9 HP at 14350 rpm. Besides this, the torque is substantially higher in a lower rpm area at 3000 rpm and from middle to high rpm area.
NOTE: Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.
the sound difference is huge!!!! much louder, and deeper. ease of install took 30 mins max. the only complaint is the stock heat guards do not fit my 09 zx6r anymore and there are no aftermarket product made to fix this..... howver my wife and friends say they cant tell the difference but I can. overall it is much worth it but wear ear plugs otherwise you will get a headache.

very good, high quality product
i'm reviewing this product based on the fact that it fits my 2013 ninja 636, i decided to include it in my slip-on swap, might as well since i took apart the plastics of the bike. 3 things i have to say about this link pipe.
1,,, this is the most important one, in the installation process it says that in order to remove the sub-muffler/catalic converter. that you have to loosen the header flenge bolts. DO NOT DO THAT!! i repeat DO NOT! if you do, you run the risk of having a leaky header if you don't tighten back right, or a broken bolt/housing if you over tighten. Solution...just completely deflate your rear tire, just bring it down to 10psi and that sub-muffler comes off.
2... this link pipe does not come with a heat shield, that is a part for the street legal slip on, so be very cautious of where you place your leg at a stop light. Solution... stop at your local bike shop and buy a roll of fiberglass tape and wrap it yourself. I do hope that Akrapovic does come up with a shield for this product.
3... if i could get my money back for this product...
i wouldn't, i think i would pay more.

A S asked:I will be buying the: Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki ZX6R / ZX636 2009-2014. For my 2013 zx-6r. I would like to know wether or not I should buy this item for my exhaust or I don't need it. What will I benefit from having the Linkage Pipe?
SALVADOR I A:I have the Akrapovic slip-ons on my 2013 R1 and I love the sound. I just got the Y pipe also and that will increase your HP and the sound also. I have to calibrate the bike with the power commander and do the dyno also, so I can have it runing perfect. You also will save couple of pounds taking the catalytic off the bike. Apr 16, 2014
