Akrapovic Exhaust System Yamaha YZF-R6 

Like the machine itself, the Akrapovic Racing and Evolution Systems for the Yamaha rocket are designed for racing-oriented riders. Either system delivers significantly increased performance, and we shouldn’t forget to mention the visual enhancement of the Akrapovic hexagonal muffler, which fits beautifully with the aggressive lines of the R6. The muffler includes a noise damper in order to restrict noise output levels.

Power & Torque: The Akrapovic Racing System is well suited to its task. Since the bike is designed for racing, the rpm range and max. power output ranges are also high. The power increase with the Akrapovic system is substantial, and can be seen from 7000 rpm right to the top of the range. At 14500 rpm we measured 119.5 HP, with max. increased power of 7.3 HP at 9200 rpm. 

Racing System Features:

• Hexagonal mufflers feature a carbon fiber outlet cap to match the design of each bike
• Conical shaped and hydroformed header is made of stainless steel; crossover tubes may be installed on certain models
• Link pipe may be cylindrical and in some models made of titanium; type of construction is based on maximum increase in performance

Evolution System Features:

• Conical or cylindrical shaped, hydroformed header and link pipe are made of stainless steel or titanium; type of construction is based on maximum increase in performance
• Crossover tubes may be installed based on the results of testing
• Most models come with preinstalled fitting for lambda connection
• Ceramic anti-seizing grease, made especially for use with titanium, is used to prevent seizing, corrosion and excessive wear of parts of the exhaust system made of titanium (due to vibration and extreme temperatures)
• Evolution Kit systems are available for select models; intended only for races that allow louder exhaust systems -107 dB
• Evolution Kit systems feature a 300mm muffler, high-mount design and include a carbon fiber muffler mounting bracket

Common Features:

• Outlet cap, perforated inner sleeve and inlet cap are all made of titanium
• When the position of the exhaust system needs to be changed and the stock bracket is no longer usable a carbon fiber bracket is included
• Include a lightweight, compact and high-temperature-resistant carbon fiber muffler clamp
• Joint of the inlet cap is milled on a state-of-the-art CNC machine and connected by high-quality silicon-shielded tempered springs
