Akrapovic Exhaust System Ducati 899 / 1199 Panigale S / R
22 years of exhaust manufacturing technology has gone into producing this Evolution Line exhaust, but despite this – just like Ducati in building the Panigale – the design effort Akrapovič put into making the ultimate exhaust was the most challenging the Slovenian company had ever faced. However, they have ensured that the finished product upholds the fact that Evolution Line exhausts are the finest off-the-shelf racing systems available.
Every section of the Evolution Line exhaust pipework is produced from specialist, durable, greater heat-resistant titanium alloy. The power-to-weight ratio of the 899 and 1199 Panigale increases dramatically with the fitment of the Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust – the use of titanium alloys are not just for show and exclusivity. The complex design and routing of the exhaust system subsequently leads to lessons in precise tube forming and surgical-like TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding of the complicated sections. Of course, all done by human eyes, hands and much skill.

2014 Ducati Panigale 899
While this is an expensive exhaust system, it is definitely worth it. The sound is great and it is quite a bit louder (especially with the silencers removed). The installation is pretty easy except for fitting the heat shield with rear foot pegs. You will have to use a grinder or rotary tool to cut away the carbon fiber. They have where to cut imprinted on the shield to make it easier but the cuts are pretty tight. The front header installation is the second hardest piece just because of the tight location. The rest of it pieces together rather quickly. Be prepared for a slight increase in heat to the rider seat, especially sitting in traffic. I added an additional heat shield just above the rear exhaust header, which substantially reduced all heat to the seat. Lastly, the performance increase is great. It definitely has better pull in the mid-range, which is where this bike was lagging for me. This exhaust takes an already exceptional bike and makes it that much better.

Straight forward install, fantastic results
While expensive, this system is certainly worth it. The piping and mufflers have fantastic high quality finishes, and everything fits together perfectly. The install took around 4 hours and is a bit tedious, but there is nothing particularly difficult about it as long as you take your time. It sounds incredibly mean, and seems to add a bit of pull as well.

Robert W: It is a piece of art and sounds awesome. I was drooling over this at Austin MotoGP in 2013 now it is mine. Oh yeah!May 22, 2014
A S: Akrapovic makes the finest exhausts in the known universe so I simply had to get the best exhaust for one of the best bikes around. The fitment, finish and quality are a perfect compliment to such a beautiful bike.May 7, 2014
Juan N: This looked to be the best option for the Panigale, especially considering that this looks to be the model that is on the Superleggera.Feb 11, 2014
Paul A asked:does this exhaust fit the 1299 or only the 1199/899?May 12, 2015
A S:The Akrapovic part number for THIS full exhaust is S-D11E1-T. I would check with a dealer and have them look in their 2015 parts catalog to see if they can fine a similar number. I have one of these full exhausts for my 1199. I looked in the 2015 Ducati Performance catalog last week and the ONLY difference I could see was a laser-etched 'Ducati' logo below the Akrapovic symbol. Keep this in mind, the full exhaust available from Ducati will have a map included, THIS exhaust will not, at least mine didn't come with one.May 13, 2015
A S:An engine is a pump. If you allow more exhaust to escape it only makes sense to let more air in so a high-flow air filter is a good idea but not a neccesity. The stock exhaust has lambda sensors in the exhaust that you will reuse on the aftermarket exhaust. These sensors measure the air to fuel mixture ratio so the ecu can compensate accordingly. It is ideal to have the mapping altered for a freer-breathing exhaust and there are a few options available. I have done all the following on my 1199 base street bike and 1199R race bike. You can get a Bazzaz, they work great OR you can find a map for the full Termignoni system, this is what I did on the street bike. Also, the mapping on the stock ecu can be modified. This is the most expensive option but you can also get the auto-blip on downshift feature enabled if you go this route.
