Akrapovic Exhaust Header BMW R1200GS / Adventure

Akrapovic Header Pipes are a great addition to your Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust. Contributing to even greater exhaust flow and back pressure while increasing horse and torque. A special process known as hydroforming is used in the manufacturing of the exhaust tubes. This process injects pressurized water into each tube to form the ideal shape for optimum exhaust flow without causing creases or compromising the strength of the steel.

It’s not just about peak power - Akrapovic exhaust systems deliver increased performance throughout the entire RPM range. Increases in power and torque result in a much smoother power delivery and ride. All Akrapovic exhaust system measurements are formulated on in-house computer-controlled flow benches.

ECU FAULT CODES I installed these headers because I put a massive dent in the stock ones and to replace it was $1,777.98 from BMW. So...I might as well get the headers to go with the Akrapovic slip-on, make sense to me. After installing these myself (following the instructions to the letter) now I'm getting a yellow triangle on the dash and an engine light! I checked the code with my GS-911 and it's due to the exhaust valve being unplugged. I can clear the codes (21FA20, 21F500, 21F502) but it immediately returns. However the instruction says to remove the servo and zip tie the wires to the starter. Just for testing I plugged the servo back and bam the code goes away. I did some digging and all over full Akrapovic exhaust system do not get this error and also have the exhaust valve servo removed. I think the dealership has to do something with the ECU. Other than that I love the new headers, nice sound. Plus it shoots blue flames when quick shifting and back firing! May 7, 2015

William A: Dealership told me no remapping required. But you do remove the exhaust valve servo. Which in my case caused 3 reoccurring fault error codes because the ECU can't talk to the servo sensor now. Will update after talking to dealership techs. May 8, 2015

William A: The fix is to remove the cables from the exhaust valve servo and reinstall the unit on the bike. May 9, 2015

A shopper asked: What is the weight difference between the steel and Titan version? Jul 14, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Charles C: The titanium is just a bit lighter then stock, I doubt if there is much difference in the two, you loose the exhaust servo which saves a pound or so. Jul 14, 2015
