Airhawk2 Pillion Seat Pad

The Airhawk 2 is designed for passengers who enjoy going on long rides but don't want to feel like they got their butt kicked at the end of it. The performance is far superior to any gel/foam/synthetic sheepskin combo on the market. Your sitting muscles will thank you.

Features:

  • Identical to the original Airhawk except the inner bladder is made of polyurethane
  • Polyurethane is much lighter, thinner and does not stretch as much as neoprene
  • Custom fits your shape and redistributes pressure that causes numbness and discomfort when you ride
  • Reduce vibration and assist in absorbing shock
  • Great for people who do the occasional 6 hour or less ride
  • Small 11"L x 9"W

Note: Please measure your seat or seating area prior to ordering.

Stick with the original Airhawk
If you're looking for a plush, comfortable seat cushion, this is not it. Stick with the original or look for a good gel seat. I bought one of these for my wife for long trips, and went with the cheaper airhawk 2 since she doesn't ride with me a lot on long trips. I was disappointed as soon as I unpacked it next to my Airhawk R. There is a great deal of difference in the feel and quality between the two. I seriously doubt this version would last very long, and plan on returning it. The material is very thin and just can't compare to the original version. The original is more like a tire inner tube (very heavy duty) and flexes as the air moves through the chambers. The material in the Airhawk 2 is stiff, and does not flex, taking away the "plush" feel you get in the original. You'd be better off mounting a pool float to keep the wife happy and save a ton of money at the same time.

soft ride
amazing help in coping with back issues or on long rides, it makes riding the bike really soft and pleasant. I have one ( the air hawk ) and this is for my wife. just a reminder, once you get used to it, you cannot ride without.

More comfort for passenger
This is my second air hawk. The first sprang a leak from the air nosal area which I was never able to fully repair, so it leaked. (Lasted a couple of seasons.)

Still the Mrs. says this make for a much more comfortable ride than my rear Mustang pillion passenger seat. Hopefully, they have figured out the air nosal problem.

Very functional,saved my tired butt
I was thinking of buying an expensive aftermarket seat for my VStrom. But after reading seat reviews I decided not to.
Once you buy a seat, it's yours and they are expensive.
The Airhawks have a money back guarantee so figured I had nothing to lose. As many reviews say, don't over fill this thing or you will feel like your sitting on a ball. But, once you have the correct air pressure it's a pleasure to use. I have put over 600 miles on it and I'm very happy. The Airhawk also helps to keep your balls from sweating on those hot So Cal days.

It helps a lot!
My partner loved the seat pad. It made our trips much easier, specially the long ones. We don't use it on an everyday basis, but is a must for the times we hit the road.
Thus said, it helps, but it is still not perfect. The back seat is more comfortable now and we can go longer before stopping for some stretching but we are now thinking that perhaps we should have gone all the way and bought a new seat...

Never got the chance to use it. :,(
My girlfriend and I have been working our way up to longer rides. After a recent ride she complained that after an hour or so the seat was hard on her butt. I remembered seeing an airhawk seat pad on a friend's motorcycle, and he regularly does cross-country trips. Based on that and the glowing endorsements on Revzilla I decided to give it a try.

When it arrived, the pad itself looked good and felt like the premium product one would expect, given the price. However I was a little dismayed by the lack of instructions and the cheap-looking installation hardware. I looked online, went to Airhawk's website, and they confirmed that the two little elastic straps were the intended mounting system.

So I took the seat off my bike (Corbin seat on a '97 Suzuki Bandit 600) and installed the with the included straps. The straps seemed to fit a bit better crossed than parallel, so that's what I did. It was at this time that noticed the tabs on the pad where the straps are supposed to hook on are a little wider than the plastic hooks on the elastic straps. So while there's a tiny barb on the plastic hook that's supposed to securely hold the tab, it doesn't fit and it can easily be knocked off it you brush against it.

I thought it was strange, but none of the reviews I read mentioned anything about mounting problems, and I was equally skeptical of magnetic tank bags until I tried one.

So I spent at least an hour getting it mounted, positioned, and experimenting with different levels of inflation. The various text or spoken descriptions are all a little vague, so I wasn't quite sure I was getting it right, but at least the inflation is pretty easy to adjust. That much was a positive.

I took the bike on a couple of short rides by myself and everything seemed to generally stay put. I was starting to think everything might be fine.

The weekend arrives. I've been waiting for this day to take my girlfriend on our longest ride yet. As I'm prepping the bike I double-check the pad and it still seems to be fine, all the clips are still attached. So I get on and ride to her place to pick her up. It was about a 30 minute ride, mostly highway. When I get there, the pad is gone. Straps and all. After all that build up, she never even got to sit on it once.

So now I have no pad and no idea if it was even any good. Having not even used it once before it flew away, I can't evaluate if it was worth the price, let alone trying to buy another and trying to come up with a more secure way to mount it. (Superglue it to the seat? Sew it down? Wrap the whole thing in duck tape till it stays put?)

Most disappointment I've ever had from a Revzilla purchase. Not really their fault, but still. It's going to be harder to trust their ratings/reviews in the future.

Is there a recommended weight limit? Not exactly a super model here!
A shopper on Jun 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am 260 lbs and it works for me...you adjust the air inside by sitting on it and releasing air through a screw type valve stem. All of the components look and feel very durable.
Is this pumped up with air? The description is a little lacking -- how exactly do you get air into it? Is it like a pool raft valve where you blow air into it? Just wondering if I need anything else.
Christopher E on Apr 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes there is a valve to blow air into it but not very full. You fill it almost full then let out air slowly until it's comfy but mot riding on a bubble.
What are the sizes available for this pillion seat pad? Medium n large.
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure on the size, but I use it on the fender of my husbands Harley Davidson screamin eagle and it is the best investment I've made!!
Hi, good evening. I have a question. Do you know which of the Airhawk works better for KTM 1190 Adventure R?

Thanks in advance for your prompt response.
