AGV Numo EVO Stinger Helmet

The AGV NUMO Modular Helmet is perfect for city and touring use with its rich array of standard features and top performance in terms of comfort, dimensions, safety and functionality. The Numo Helmet is the ideal helmet for those in search of the aesthetics and safety of a fullface helmet and the practicality of an open helmet, in a combination that can also boast leading technical innovations and Italian production.

The design of the Numo helmet largely reflects that of AGV’s latest innovations, like Horizon and Skyline helmets. With the chinbar in the closed position, the performance is that of a fullface helmet, thanks to the streamlined chin guard perfectly integrated into the lines of the shell. When the chin guard is open the helmet is very compact and features the shortest shell/chin guard distance in its segment, this contributes to limiting the sail effect during use with the chin guard open.

Features:

  • Shell: HIR-TH (High Resistance ThermoPlastic Resin)
  • Number of Shells: 1 shell size
  • Ventilation System: IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with wide ducts hollowed into the shell and rear extractor built into the neck protector
  • Liner: Breathable Lycra micro-porous lining and Dry-comfort fabric with sanitizing treatment
  • Liner: Fully removable and washable inner liners
  • Faceshield: GT 2 Numo optical class 1 non-scratch, anti-fog polycarbonate visor with 100% protection from UV rays
  • Visor Mechanism: XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) for tool-free removal and replacement of visor in seconds
  • Retention System: Micrometrically adjustable strap
  • Sun Visor: Integrated ISV non-scratch, anti-fog sun visor

Note: Helmet ships with clear face shield.

Good helmet, but application specific.
Beautiful helmet. I was disappointed that it wasn't made in Italy. The shell and helmet overall does not have an awe-inspiring feel to it, but it's very functional. I purchased this helmet mainly for 1/2 day rides, and to use around town. It is definitely more noisy compared to my full-face helmet, but that is somewhat expected. The built-in sun visor is useless for me as it does not come down enough, and being used to decent quality sunglasses, it leaves a little to be desired. Due to it being modular, it leaks air, so if riding in the cold, I recommend a full-face helmet. But because I make a lot of stops, it serves its purpose well.

Hi-Viz just got bad with this badboy!
Looks awesome and offers great visibility. You must wear earplugs with this helmet because it is noisy. Weight isn't an issue and the modular mechanism is the best I've experienced (owned'em all). For the price point it's very good.

AGV NUMO
Amazing helmet my first modular helmet and i could not be happier with AGV and Revzilla product summary was spot on. This helmet is so versatile, functional, comfortable and easy to use my new go to helmet this season. Small down side it is noisy. Ear plugs and bluetooth ports take care of that flaw. Thank you AGV and revzilla.

I like the style of this helmet the most.
With this helmet, if you are in between sizes, I would go with the larger size. The padding on this helmet is very thin so I don't know if you really want it to brake in that much. The noise level on this helmet is pretty loud compared to my last helmet. If I wore ear buds with my last helmet I could eliminate the air noise, but with this helmet I can still hear the air pretty loud even with the ear buds in. I was kind of surprised how little padding this helmet really has and if you tap on the outside of it there is kind of a hollow sounding echo. This is my first time using a modular helmet so I don't know if this is how they all are or not, but I do like the Numo. The aggressive styling is great and the opening mechanism seams to work easily and smoothly. Also riding with the front open, everything feels stable. It is a little on the heavy side so you do start to feel it on longer rides, if riding in a 3/4 position, but not as noticeable when riding up right. For the price, I guess I expected a little more but overall it is a very good helmet.

Not bad but didn't like the fit
The wife & I ordered three helmets: Nolan N104 Storm, Kabuto Ibuki and the AGV Numo Stinger. We both tried on this helmet and for some reason we did not like the fit. I have watched this helmet and have liked the styling, graphics and the aggressive look for the hawk like fit. We were just not liking the fit. From the reviews I read it looks like most liked the helmet.

Full featured but flawed helmet
I really wanted to like this helmet. After commuting 1.5 hours each way through NYC for a few months I still don't think it was the best choice.
Pros
- Great looks
- Flip up chin guard comes in handy when the need arises.
- Comfortable fit for long rides
- Decent airflow, doesn't fog up

Cons
- Noisy, noticeably noisier than my other helmets
- Visor rises in large steps (+1"), so the first notch obstructs my instrument cluster when I need air. I have to close and open it over and over with speed changes. Now it's gotten loose and closes on its own in high winds.
- Integrated sun visor is handy, but doesn't come down far enough. The "nose" notch is also a useless cut-out. Could really use the extra visor area there.
- Definitely heavier than non-convertible helmets
- Leaks in the rain. Water drips down the inside of the visor after 5-10 minutes.

Great comfortable helmet
Used the helmet for a few weeks in cold weather, my eye glasses fogged up but not the face shield. Slightly uncomfortable with eyeglasses on, squeezes frames into your face. Best helmet I've owned

I was stuck trying to decide between this and the evoline 3 Hakka. I sent an email to revzilla asking for their opinion on which to they felt was a better helmet. After receiving a reply from Eric suggesting this helmet, I decided to give this one a try. I like the style of this helmet and the price is better, so I believe I will be happy with this choice.

Would the Sena 20s fit on this helmet? Thanks!!
Cristino M on Jun 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: improvise to fit.
Is it yellow or is it fluorescent?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Officially 'hi viz yellow' and i would say more flourecent than standard yellow, cant miss it really stands out. Great functionally too, flip up works great, sun visor a bonus.
My head size is 22 3/4 or 58 cm, my head is more of the round shape, according to the size chart I should get a medium sized helmet but I am a little worried it might be small, will a Large size be OK for me? I am really not sure whether my head is intermediate oval or round oval as i don't know how to tell but I am definitely not long oval.
A shopper on May 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
Ive purchased the EVO Stinger on September 2013. I did follow the size chart guidelines...but tnevertheless went to a couple of stores and tried different brand sizes as to get a comparative approach from each manufacturer.

In the end -and to answer your question- Im a 59 cm and the Large helmet fits comfortably on my head. There are no pressure points around my checks, nor its sits to high or to low on my head.

On other issues, it has to be one of the loudest helments out there -riding with the helment face closed that is- its as loud as my open face FOX V2.
Also drop down lens inside the helmet, do create a bit of distortion.

I will rate it as 7/10.
I tried this in a size M which seemed to fit fine, and then I went to another store to try to size M again but he seemed a little loose, why do you think that is when this model doesn't even have an Asian fit but only European fit?
A shopper on Mar 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The difference can be the interior padding. The helmet is homologated to the exterior shape of the plus the polystyrene impact absorbing material beneath it. This is invisible to the rider. The things you see when you look inside are the removable pads. I know for sure there are different sizes for the cheeks, which would make the fit feel different if they had been changed. If the store had changed the pads in the second helmet to a smaller size, you would feel like it was a looser fit. Without seeing the helmets in person, that is my best guess, unless the helmet was mislabeled, but with regulations and compliance laws, this is a virtual impossibility to arrive through US customs with an incorrect label.
Is this normal that it's a loose on the cheeks with a little bit of shifting when moving it with my hands? That's how it fitted with a Size M, and a size S wouldn't even allow me to out my head in...
A shopper on Mar 13, 2016
