Saved my life
I wrecked in this helmet face first going 60 mph. (was hit by a car) This helmet saved my life. The ECE certification is very similar to the snell cert and is the most common internationally. This standard is used in MotoGP.

Not only did this helmet save my life, but it's comfortable, quiet, and light. For the price, I think this helmet is the best in its' class. Highly recommended. Just bought another.

A little help with sizing
I watched more videos and read more reviews than I could count before buying this helmet. As others have stated, the padding is a little thin at the forehead but it does not bother me. To be honest I love this helmet. It feels light, breathes well, is high speed friendly and who couldn't be happy with the looks? My big issue when looking at helmets on line was the sizing. My head measured at the high end of AGVs medium range. I decided to get a Large knowing that I might need to buy thicker inserts, but that isn't the case.

Great Value for a good helmet
I just barely got into riding so my review is just my opinion for this helmet. I bought it on the closeout deal and it was an amazing deal. I love the look and it is comfortable just a little pressure on the forehead or just needs to be broken in a little. It seems like it has good airflow, my head hasn't really sweated too much in it. Some of the cons to this in my opinion though is it is not as long as I needed my chin kind of pokes out the bottom. Also I don't really have anything to base it off of but the noise level seems loud in the helmet. Not excessively so but enough that I wear ear plugs.

Seems too short for my head
Maybe I'm just not used to this style of helmet. The back of it seems fairly high up my neck, so if it rained I'd definitely get rain down the back of my neck. Also the chin guard barely covers my chin.

Maybe I have a long head or something? Who knows.

Decent helmet for the price
Been wearing one of these for almost a year now - it's a good helmet but IMO it's quite loud, even with all vents closed, and there's some quality/durability issues that could be addressed.

The good:
- fits well - I typically wear a large helmet, I bought a large, no complaints.
- Vents move enough air to keep from fogging if you're going more than 30 mph, even in actual fog. I commute 25 miles in the Portland area, 20 or so of which are on the highway through the valleys west of town, where it gets VERY foggy sometimes. Never had a problem with the visor fogging, just water condensing on the outside
- Visor is easy to swap out
- pads and liner are easy to remove for cleaning

The bad:
- Noisy. I don't have much experience with other motorcycle helmets but I always wear ear plugs in this thing regardless of what speed I'm going to go, and I'm not on a loud bike at all - it's the wind that bothers me.
- Visor mounting system is fairly low quality. The visor mounting/ratcheting system is essentially two pieces - one piece that it actually rotates on, and one piece that clips in to a small channel that has grooves in it for the ratcheting action. This smaller piece that does the ratcheting has gotten worn from flipping the visor up and down enough that it doesn't stay in its groove anymore unless I move the visor very deliberately - no more whipping it up and down willy nilly or that piece won't stay in its channel and the visor won't seal until I push that part back into its channel. Easy to do while riding but it is annoying.
- The plastic doohickey on the back that forms the point and houses the rear vents is VERY EASY to break. The helmet fell off my foot pegs once and landed directly on that - it cracked in two places. The little tabs that hold it onto the helmet also have worn down a lot (for no apparent reason, I never remove it) and at some point I'm assuming the whole thing will fall off, leaving me with an awkward looking helmet.

I'd say it's a quality helmet but the visor ratcheting system and the rear vent cover leave a bit to be desired. For the money, however, it'll last you if you take care of it, and the visor can easily be fixed by replacing it. Not so sure about the rear vent cover.

I wish I hadn't bought it.
This helmet was not designed for folks who wear eyeglasses. I had distorted vision wearing this helmet because the glasses were "scrunched".

It is a round oval rather than an intermediate oval.

I would buy it again!
You can't beat this helmet for the price. It is very light, and has great airflow. The liner gets a little out of whack sometimes, but other than that I have had no issues with it.

Good buy for a good price. Feels tight when first bought, need to break it in to better fit you. Overall very comfortable during rides. Good air flow.

Hello. I interested in AGV k4 helmet. But cannot decide which color is better for me. Black is look as it shown on photo ? http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/agv-k4-evo-helmet-solid Not so glossy ? If it is looks different i will choose matte black.
A shopper on Jan 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hey, I have the normal non matte black helmet. This photo is pretty accurate to how it looks inside when normal light bulbs shine on it. Looks less shiny on a sunny day though.
In the video the helmet has double D ring but AGV lists this helmet as micro metric, what gives?
Angus M on Apr 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've had mine for I about 2 years, and unless they've changed it since then, it's a double D-ring. Best helmet I've ever owned, by the way.
I was wondering if the K4 evo comes with DOT sticker, and also my head size is 62 cm exactly and looking at the helmet size, should i get the XL or XXL, does it fit small or large?
A S on Nov 17, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I believe the helmet is DOT approved. I found the helmet to run pretty true to size. I am typically between a XL and XXL. I had gone with the XL, as I feel it's important for it to be a bit on the tighter side. I hope this helps.
Is there really enough difference between the k4 evo and the k3 to justify the extra $? I have been rocking a k3 for 2 years and I love it.
A shopper on Aug 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I myself own the K4 and my younger sister owns the K3 and both helmets are nearly the same IMO. Both are light, comfortable, have great ventilation and they're not the quietest but also don't find it to be loud or irritating when riding. I've been looking to get a newer helmet myself just to change up the look but I'm probably going for either the newer Shoei RF-1200 or the Bell Star. I say go with what you like but wouldn't really make the jump to a K4 from the K3 maybe get the AGV Corsa lol. Good luck with your new choice of helmet and always ride safe.
weight ???
Routh S on Jul 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Can't give you the exact wt, I'm out of town, but it weighs less than the Suomy or HJC i have. I love my helmet! Have had it a couple years and it's held up well.
I own a shoei rf-1000. Will i feel like this is a downgrade?
A shopper on Dec 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is lighter and has less padding. However, it has excellent noise dampering and it is very comfortable.

I don't know if you consider that a downgrade.

I like it and the only missing thing I wish it had is the pin lock anti fog system.
I plan on getting the K4 Evo since the reviews are mostly positive. Just wanted to know what works best with the smoke visor?
Does the matte work better with the smoke visor or does the black work better? Pictures are welcome.
Wesley Paul N on Nov 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I love my matte black helmet. The matte matches the black/charcoal plastic on my triumph tiger. My smoke black visor accents it nicely and I love the visor contrast to the helmet.

Sorry I don't have pictures but I've taken the smoke visor off for winter riding and I use my clear.
Is there a bluetooth intercom available for this helmet?
A shopper on Mar 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I installed the Sena SMH-10 (universal) communicator and it works perfectly. Might take some trial and error to get the speakers in a comfortable position. There are no cut outs for the speakers. But the cheek pads are thick enough that you won't feel the speakers. Hope this helps.
I have a fairly round head and find the S4 fits me perfectly. How does the K4 fit, compared to the S4. Are they similar in shape?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Don't know about the S4 but the K4 is an intermediate oval - from above, egg shaped with the small area forward - my head shape. The K4 fits me with no pressure spots.
