AGV Corsa Winter Test LE 2012 Helmet

AGV presents new CORSA limited edition model, a helmet for real motorbike enthusiasts and especially for fans of the World Champion, Valentino Rossi. The new Corsa Limited Edition will bear the same new race graphics as seen on the Valentino Rossi’s PISTA GP helmet. The "supersport" look is made even more attractive by the “Sun” and “Moon” symbols used by Valentino along with ideograms for the Japanese word “Kando”, a word used by Masao Furusawa to describe Valentino Rossi when he joined Yamaha in 2004.

The AGV Corsa Helmet combines the performance of the Pista GP with road-riding features such as adjustable ventilation and improved comfort, without sacrificing the performance standards of the GP model.

The AGV Corsa Helmet has been awarded a Five Star SHARP certification. SHARP (Safety Helmet and Assessment Rating Programme) is the UK Department of Transportation's independent helmet evaluation system and a 5 Star Rating represents the highest echelon of protection, the Corsa is now listed among the safest helmets in the world.

Built in conjunction with Valentino Rossi and tested at the highest levels. The Corsa is not a full carbon fiber shell but the shell shape, aerodynamics, ventilation and eye-port improvements will be shared cross platform with the Pista GP Helmet.

Key improvements of the Corsa compared to the GP Tech:

 • Weight savings over the GP-Tech to be announced
 • 193% more ventilation surface area
 • 71% smaller visor movement area
 • 48% less HIC index standard (Head Injury Criterion)
 • 44% less lift 36% less g-force transmitted to the head (compared to the ECE regulation)

Features:

 • Shell: SSL (Super Super Light) in composite fiber, aramid & Carbon Fiber
 • Number of Shells: 4 shell sizes
 • Ventilation System: IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with wide ducts hollowed into the shell
 • Interior: Breathable Lycra® micro-porous lining and Dry-comfort fabric with sanitizing treatment
 • Interior: Fully removable and washable inner liners of CoolMax fabric
 • Faceshield: RACE 2 flat, non-scratch shield with wide field of vision and suitable for tear-offs
 • Shield Mechanism: XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) in metal with roto-translation opening
 • Quick Release Shield: For tool-free removal and replacement of the visor in seconds
 • Retention System: Double D
 • Safety Certification: ECE, DOT and SHARP 5 Star

Suitable- it's a race helmet and it does that job well
Fit - very snug initially (headache quality) but it breaks in. Not reccommended for street unless you go large. But there are other reasons not recommeded for street. Read on.

Noise,weight- very good for race or street.

Vision- very good for race or street but foggy. Cool mornings during practice before a race it WILL fog up and a lot. I've tried many things to fix it but the simple feature flaws are that the shield is either open or closed and when it is closed you get fog and there isnt any easy exhaust for your breath. The front vent is kinda small. You are fine during the race.

I bought it on sale. So due to price, overall it is a very good and very safe helmet. This helmet is suited for race only applications. IMO. I suspect that I'd hate it if it was for daily driving use.

Wonderful helmet from AGV, as always!
The Corsa is an awesome helmet made with the highest AGV standards. If you're looking for one of the most state of the helmets around, you've found it.

My only gripe is that it's a very loud helmet. There's no concessions given to deadening wind noise. But it's a race replica, so what can you expect? Better wear earplugs!

Wow...what a helmet.
This is THE helmet to buy if you race and do road riding as well. I wanted to use this helmet for racing only but found it so nice that I use it for road riding as well. With my other helmets I had a problem with seeing the exit of the corner as I get so low on the bike and also use a LEATT neck brace. But with the AGV CORSA that is not a problem at all. The ventilation works really well and I get no fogging up when stopping on the grid for the start of the race as some other helmets I have used before. The tear off strips that you can buy for the helmet also works really well,,,with the dark and standard clear visor. The helmet is really stable at high speed and you can feel that this helmet was designed from the word GO as a race helmet. If you are a racer that is looking for something that works really well on track and the road....look no further. And the fact that it is a limited edition does help to rip out the credit card as well...lol.

BEST Helmet...
Incredible helmet, minus the $500 more expensive Pista GP helmet. The AGV Corsa Line is by far the best helmet I have worn to date. I have a large head that has given me the hardest time to find a helmet that fits. With the adjustable interior helmet pads this helmets fits perfectly. After a few break in rides it is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. With the wide and large field of views I forget that I am even wearing a helmet. I could go on and on about how great of a helmet this is but it really is that good to go out and spend the money for one of these helmets. As the old adage says, "you get what you pay for" that is exactly what you get with this helmet. Nothing short of the best. Gotta buy it to believe it.

Adjustability to a PERFECTION
I wear a medium in almost all my helmets. I could not fit a medium small in this helmet. (Helmets I own: shoei rf1200, shoei rf1100, and shoei x12.) I rode for the first time and it hurt after 10 minutes! But this helmet has the ability to adjust the interior. It makes a WORLD difference. I did buy the extrasmall cheek pads though to ensure that I wasn't "kissing" the inside of my helmet.

Venting in this helmet is AMAZING. At a stop, it gets hot. You move, and you feel the air. A very expensive helmet, but it's worth every dime.

Worth the price! Amazing! Buy this not the Pista!!!
I bought this over the Pista because of the price, the difference in weight is negligible to me (I can’t find actual numbers but the difference is only a couple ounces) and the vents on this actually close instead of the Pista's rubber plugs.

FIT: I have worn size large in Shoei, Arai and my previous AGV GP Tech. After a year of mixed street and a lot of track, the liner of the GP Tech crushed down and got a little loose feeling at high speed on the straights IE 120 MPH on the track. !!! I bought the Med Large (they split the med size into two sizes and shapes apparently) Its very tight but the one I tried on at local store had been on the shelf and tried on for a year and felt perfect so I expect this one to crush down a little but its very snug, more so than the Large GP Tech. Think safety at track speeds.

This helmet fixes my 2 complaints with the GP Tech.
1. On the GP Tech the field of vision was limited when I was down in the bubble behind the windscreen. This helmet totally fixed that. Not only is the field of view wider it’s also taller.
2. The GP Tech was pretty loud. It vented well but even with ear plugs in it was pretty loud. . This thing is simply Quiet!!! This makes my GP Tech sound like a wind tunnel. I don't know how they did that with more air flow than the GP Tech. Yes that is also noticeable.
3. They fixed the horrible “quick release” (Quick snap off plastic) visor change system that AGV used to use. I broke 2 sets being very careful and gave up trying to change visors. This is really well done on the Pista and Corsa. Best and easiest system I’ve seen so far of any brand.

The big clear plastic airfoil on the back of this helmet does what it says. It’s so much more stable. My head doesn't get buffeted around like every other helmet I've owned. This is a great helmet and will work for both track and street. The Corsa has a lot of other little bits of bling that just add to the whole thing.
I was a little nervous about getting a helmet marketed for track use and riding it on the street IE noise, airflow, long ride comfort etc, but all those fears are swept aside by this amazing helmet. WELL WORTH THE PRICE.

Sizing help
This helmet is one of the best I've owned. Out of two Shoei RF1000s, two AGV K3s, and an AGV GP Tech, this helmet by far has the best field of view. I had unobstructed views Looking through closing radius corners and tucking in on the straights. At times I felt as if I didn't even have a helmet on.
The fit is smaller than I expected though. Ordered a size small, same as my GP Tech which fits perfectly. The Corsa is a much tighter fit than my GP Tech. After adjusting the padding, a few street rides and a day at the track it feels perfect.
I don't feel a weight difference between the GP Tech and the Corsa.
Air flow is excellent.
This helmet is certainly worth every penny.

Exceeded Expectations
Aside from the great looks, this helmet is incredibly light and comfortable. Used to heavier modular helmet I certainly welcome the change and eventhough there are some tradeoffs such as sunvisor, intercom and most obviously the opening chin guard, there is no substitute for super light comfortable sensation either commuting or on the road. VR's input is evident!

This helmet probably the best helmet I will ever own. It feels like you're riding with surround sound and hd vision. The view out of the tinted gold shield is a bit darker that I would like, but perfect during the day. Superior quality in every category. I love the adjustability. One should know that it is worn in a slightly different position, so getting used to it may be funny for a few days.

In bought it in XS, but can I change out the liner for a small as it feels very tight at the top of my head not necessarily the side of my cheek??? Thanks!

I am thinking of getting this helmet to get ready for summer, my only problem is the fitment of it since I saw that it has two mediums. The measurement of my head is 57 and the shape of my face is a little bit round. I just want to make sure that I get the right size. Also, I am a medium on the icon variant and a large on the shoei rf-1200 because the cushion on the medium is actually pushing in by my temple and its making my head hurt after awhile. I am a daily rider and an occasional track day dude. Which medium should i get?
Jean M on Feb 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jean

First of all good choice with this amazing helmet, I love everything about it and it one of the best helmets I own. I'm also a 57.7 size head and head shape a little round aswell but more on the oval shape, I got the MS size and I feel super comfortable with it only problem is I have very short hair so when I let my hair grow abit to long the helmet squeezes on my temples and upper head witch causes my head to hurt after a long journey with the helmet. My advice to you is get a ML size. Also remember, you buying the helmet from one of the best places in the world, REVZILLA, so if you get a size you not completely happy or comfortable with they will exchange it for you and sort you out no problem. Well my bud I hope this sheds a little bit more light on your purchase and I wish you all the best. safe riding. Nuno Barros, SOUTH AFRICA
I've heard that the dark smoke visor is disappointingly light on this helmet. When I buy a dark smoke visor, I want it DARK. Is this true? Is the dark smoke race visor more tinted than the standard dark visor?
Victor S on Nov 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have the Dark Smoke race visor and it is plenty dark enough. I suffer with photophobia and have to have dark glasses on most of the time. You will be in your own little cocoon with the visor on and people won't be able to see your face. You will so have a hard time if you get caught out at night without the clear as an alternate. Hope this helps.
Hi,

Does it come with clear or dark faceshield?

Thanks
bmoesq on Dec 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi,

It comes with the standard clear visor. I bought the dark race visor separately. It's completely worth the money.
is the Corsa made in Italy? Seems like some AGV's are made in China.
A shopper on Feb 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I believe this helmet is made in Italy, thats what is says on the back of the helmet.
Does this helmet have the same wide view port as the pista gp?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've worn both the Pista GP and the Corsa Winter Test LE (I own the latter). Both helmets are essentially the same with respect to how the helmet fits, where the chin bar rides along the jaw, the amount of peripheral vision available, etc. The only difference between the two (short the price tag) is one is made of carbon fiber and the other is made of a carbon composite. If you want the same technology (and protection) less the ultra-exotic materials in the Pista, the Corsa is the way to go. I absolutely love mine! I'll put it this way:

Riding in moderate temperatures (40 - 50 degrees F), you will want all of the vents closed because they really do flow that much air and you will be so cold you won't want to ride. I've had one 70 degree day since I've owned the helmet, and it was an absolute joy to ride in. No sweat, no hot spots, simply the best helmet I've ever owned. Just make sure you buy the right size and expect a little bit of a snug fit (it is a racing derived helmet) and you'll be good to go. Expect a little bit of a break in too, but once you give it a chance, you won't be sorry about your purchase.
Hi guys! I live in australia and am pretty keen on purchasing this helmet, but it needs to have the silver sticker with AUS/NZ1698 certification, do you guys have them? or would i have to have to purchase this helmet in australia? thank you
