AGV Corsa Winter Test LE 2012 Helmet

AGV presents new CORSA limited edition model, a helmet for real motorbike enthusiasts and especially for fans of the World Champion, Valentino Rossi. The new Corsa Limited Edition will bear the same new race graphics as seen on the Valentino Rossi’s PISTA GP helmet. The "supersport" look is made even more attractive by the “Sun” and “Moon” symbols used by Valentino along with ideograms for the Japanese word “Kando”, a word used by Masao Furusawa to describe Valentino Rossi when he joined Yamaha in 2004.

The AGV Corsa Helmet combines the performance of the Pista GP with road-riding features such as adjustable ventilation and improved comfort, without sacrificing the performance standards of the GP model.

The AGV Corsa Helmet has been awarded a Five Star SHARP certification. SHARP (Safety Helmet and Assessment Rating Programme) is the UK Department of Transportation's independent helmet evaluation system and a 5 Star Rating represents the highest echelon of protection, the Corsa is now listed among the safest helmets in the world.

Built in conjunction with Valentino Rossi and tested at the highest levels. The AGV Corsa Winter Test helmet is not a full carbon fiber shell but the shell shape, aerodynamics, ventilation and eye-port improvements will be shared cross platform with the Pista GP Helmet.

Key improvements of the Corsa compared to the GP Tech:

  • Weight savings over the GP-Tech to be announced
  • 193% more ventilation surface area
  • 71% smaller visor movement area
  • 48% less HIC index standard (Head Injury Criterion)
  • 44% less lift 36% less g-force transmitted to the head (compared to the ECE regulation)

Features:

  • Shell: SSL (Super Super Light) in composite fiber, aramid & Carbon Fiber
  • Number of Shells: 4 shell sizes
  • Ventilation System: IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with wide ducts hollowed into the shell
  • Interior: Breathable Lycra® micro-porous lining and Dry-comfort fabric with sanitizing treatment
  • Interior: Fully removable and washable inner liners of CoolMax fabric
  • Faceshield: RACE 2 flat, non-scratch shield with wide field of vision and suitable for tear-offs
  • Shield Mechanism: XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) in metal with roto-translation opening
  • Quick Release Shield: For tool-free removal and replacement of the visor in seconds
  • Retention System: Double D
  • Safety Certification: ECE, DOT and SHARP 5 Star

Amazing Helmet I used to wear a Suomy. This helmet has great fit. Vision is amazing and it feels real light. Fitment was spot on. Fits very snug the first few times, but loosened up to an amazingly snug but comfortable fit. Oh and the helmet cuts through wind like nothing I have felt in a helmet. September 29, 2014
Adjustability to a PERFECTION I wear a medium in almost all my helmets. I could not fit a medium small in this helmet. (Helmets I own: shoei rf1200, shoei rf1100, and shoei x12.) I rode for the first time and it hurt after 10 minutes! But this helmet has the ability to adjust the interior. It makes a WORLD difference. I did buy the extrasmall cheek pads though to ensure that I wasn't "kissing" the inside of my helmet. Venting in this helmet is AMAZING. At a stop, it gets hot. You move, and you feel the air. A very expensive helmet, but it's worth every dime. August 19, 2014
BEST Helmet... Incredible helmet, minus the $500 more expensive Pista GP helmet. The AGV Corsa Line is by far the best helmet I have worn to date. I have a large head that has given me the hardest time to find a helmet that fits. With the adjustable interior helmet pads this helmets fits perfectly. After a few break in rides it is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. With the wide and large field of views I forget that I am even wearing a helmet. I could go on and on about how great of a helmet this is but it really is that good to go out and spend the money for one of these helmets. As the old adage says, "you get what you pay for" that is exactly what you get with this helmet. Nothing short of the best. Gotta buy it to believe it. June 11, 2014
Best field of view out of any helmet I've owned This helmet is one of the best I've owned. Out of two Shoei RF1000s, two AGV K3s, and an AGV GP Tech, this helmet by far has the best field of view. I had unobstructed views Looking through closing radius corners and tucking in on the straights. At times I felt as if I didn't even have a helmet on. The fit is smaller than I expected though. Ordered a size small, same as my GP Tech which fits perfectly. The Corsa is a much tighter fit than my GP Tech. After adjusting the padding, a few street rides and a day at the track it feels perfect. I don't feel a weight difference between the GP Tech and the Corsa. Air flow is excellent. This helmet is certainly worth every penny. April 27, 2014
Sweet helmet I have not bought a new helmet in several years so I did a lot of research before purchasing this one. Also, to carry on the tradition my brother started, it had to be a Rossi. This helmet feels so much lighter than my last AGV. And the venting is fantastic. But the thing I like the most and was the most noticeable when I first put it on is the visibility. The anti fog was a nice surprise. It went on easy and works really well. Overall I am very happy with this helmet. March 24, 2014
Look no further, your helmet is here! First of all, i'd like to thank Revzilla for getting me my helmet in a super-short, ridiculous amount of time. 2 days from purchase it was on my head. I even sent it back because I thought it was a little small, and then had them send me the same size again because I was a little hasty and didn't want to give the helmet a chance to break in. THEY WERE ALL AWESOME AND DIDN'T FLINCH AT MAKING SURE I WAS HAPPY! I WILL NEVER BUY GEAR FROM ANOTHER RETAILER AGAIN FOR THIS VERY REASON! The review: I've had this helmet for a few months now and I wanted to wait until I've had a little time in it before I wrote a proper review. [EXPLETIVE] where do I start?! I've been riding for over 30 years, and it took me this long to find the right helmet! I've had other premium helmets and they've all fit me well, but this one fits just right. Once it's on your head, you almost forget that it's there. HUUGE eye port! Ridiculous ventilation! In the tuck, the thing really works. No lift is an understatement! I've been [5th Amendment] mph in the thing and it is very stable. I will say that if you want the most quite helmet out there, this isn't it. Sound levels are on par with the AGV K3/K4 line, but different. In the K3 and K4 helmets, I've had a lot of wind noise. With the Corsa, I feel that I hear the bike's engine more (although this could be in my head… wait, it is). It's not an pain in the [EXPLETIVE] ears if you know what I mean. Let's talk about the weight: What weight? Nuf said. Let's talk about the quality: Have you ever heard of Dainese? Nuf said. Let's talk about the price: We're all on a budget, but how much is YOUR HEAD worth? Nuf said. Don't take my word for it, buy it! If I was super rich I would say: Buy it and if you don't like it, I'll buy it back… Wait! Back to my first comment, Revzilla WILL buy it back (as long as you don't ride in it)! Before you do anything, wear it in the house while you watch the MotoGP race you recorded last year and just see how it fits (make sure you do this with no one else around because getting in the tuck on the coffee table while you're watching your wall mounted-TV will provoke questions… trust me). I will say that I don't work for Revzilla and that this is MY review. They are one of (if not the) best retailers out there for your riding gear and parts, so give them a chance and buy the helmet from them. You won't be sorry, I can assure you of that. wow! SNUG Just got it today. holy moley!!! the size chart is bang on. i have a 56cm head. size small. and wow. snug is all i can. say play around with the settings and find your fit, i did. been riding in it all day. im sure itll break in nicely... AND THE VISIBILITY IS AMAZING. ITS PERFECT IN THE TUCK, YOU MISS NOTHING. January 18, 2014
Wow...what a helmet. This is THE helmet to buy if you race and do road riding as well. I wanted to use this helmet for racing only but found it so nice that I use it for road riding as well. With my other helmets I had a problem with seeing the exit of the corner as I get so low on the bike and also use a LEATT neck brace. But with the AGV CORSA that is not a problem at all. The ventilation works really well and I get no fogging up when stopping on the grid for the start of the race as some other helmets I have used before. The tear off strips that you can buy for the helmet also works really well,,,with the dark and standard clear visor. The helmet is really stable at high speed and you can feel that this helmet was designed from the word GO as a race helmet. If you are a racer that is looking for something that works really well on track and the road....look no further. And the fact that it is a limited edition does help to rip out the credit card as well...lol. January 7, 2014

A shopper asked: Does this helmet have the same wide view port as the pista gp? Feb 26, 2014

Matthew R: I've worn both the Pista GP and the Corsa Winter Test LE (I own the latter). Both helmets are essentially the same with respect to how the helmet fits, where the chin bar rides along the jaw, the amount of peripheral vision available, etc. The only difference between the two (short the price tag) is one is made of carbon fiber and the other is made of a carbon composite. If you want the same technology (and protection) less the ultra-exotic materials in the Pista, the Corsa is the way to go. I absolutely love mine! I'll put it this way:

Riding in moderate temperatures (40 - 50 degrees F), you will want all of the vents closed because they really do flow that much air and you will be so cold you won't want to ride. I've had one 70 degree day since I've owned the helmet, and it was an absolute joy to ride in. No sweat, no hot spots, simply the best helmet I've ever owned. Just make sure you buy the right size and expect a little bit of a snug fit (it is a racing derived helmet) and you'll be good to go. Expect a little bit of a break in too, but once you give it a chance, you won't be sorry about your purchase.

James A: Yes, the shape is identical. The only difference is that the Pista is all carbon fiber and has less padding on the collar. Also, the Corsa has mechanical vent closure.

I highly recommend the Corsa. It has everything you realistically need and only weighs a few ounces more than the Pista. You will never notice the difference.

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David W: Pretty difficult. I tried to install my Sena SMH10, and there isn't enough room. When I took the pads out and put them back in, they didn't fit right with the bluetooth in place so i just took the bluetooth out. Nov 16, 2013
