AFX FX-50 Hi-Viz Helmet
Great for glasses!
I wear glasses and finding a helmet that offer more protection than an open face is nice. The shade sheild is great. The HIVis was what sold me too. I ride a small bike and being seen is vital in a retirement/college community. The helmet is a little snug and for a long diistance ride it gave me a pressure head ache. I will work on the helmet pads to losen them up a bit. Overall a great product.

Great deal for a starter helmet.
The shield fogs easily when all the way down. Other then that its a great helmet for the price. Would be perfect for a scooter or someone on a budget who wants a little more functionality.

Really like this helmet
The airflow is amazing on this helmet, which not surprisingly makes it a little loud. The tradeoff is really worth it for hot climates like Florida where I live. Overall it's very comfortable and my only quibble is the size seems to be a little on the large side. I normally wear a large but am considering buying another one in medium and keeping the large for friends and family. It has a wide field of vision and the sun visor works great.

I AM WELL PLEASED WITH THE HELMET. I LIKE ALSO THE SUN VISOR. IT FLIPS EASY UP AND DOWN. THE COLOR OF THE HELMET IS GREAT.

One major desing flaw.
I loved everything about it, the fit, the airflow, noise not bad, the hi viz is exactly what i needed, i was in love until i noticed that if you pull up the visor all the way up, the upper cap touches the visor and ends up scratching it axactly above your vision range, so unless you remember everytime NOT to pull the visor all the way up all will be good.

Nice helmet, terrible fit
There’s a lot I like about this helmet. It has all the features I was looking for at an insanely low price. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
-available in hi-viz
-integrated sun visor
-Lack of padding in forehead area
-sun visor doesn’t come down low enough
Even though it was cheap and has great features, the fit was terrible for me. I found it to be very round so that there was a lot of space at my temples and cheeks, but wayyyy too little at my foerhead. Add to this the fact that there is very little padding in this area and right around the 30 minute mark my head was in a great deal of pain. Like, had to pull over and get this terrible thing off my head right NOW kind of pain. I also found that the sun visor didn’t come down far enough. It was almost right in the middle of my vision. I could’ve used another inch, I think. And it’s not a quiet helmet, but this style generally isn’t. I found that I had to wear earplugs with it.
It’s too bad, if the fit wasn’t so far off I would’ve kept the helmet. Instead I went with the FX-140 modular. The 140 is way more comfortable, quieter, fits a narrower head better, has a ton more padding all around but especially in the forehead area, and is safer. If it wasn’t so heavy it would be the perfect helmet for me.
If the FX-50 fits, you’ll be happy. But narrower faces and pronounced foreheads beware…

Much nicer than expected for the $cratch
I bought the black version for myself - it was so nice for the money my wife wanted one in HI-Viz. We both ordered a size up from the chart and the fit is perfect. Plenty of room for prescription glasses, and the built in sun shield is great when you are turning into the sun and don't want to stop for sunglasses. Several friends who ride w/o helmets took notice and are now considering buying these for extended rides.

Great Helmet for the Money!
I have the Bright Yellow one and it sure stands out! The reflectors are an nice touch too. Great for scooter riding, also the sun-shade works great with my glasses. The visor does make some noise but not all that bad. I like the way you can configure the style for different riding styles too. As for fit it is slightly rounded. I wear a 2XL and the helmet is snug at my forehead but not uncomfortable. The padding is thin when compared to other styles but comfortable enough. The cam-latch chin strap is handy and once adjusted is easier to work than double D rings.
