Silver mirrored faceshield is the way to go
I bought the silver-mirrored faceshield to replace the clear one on my helmet and I absolutely love it. You do have to be careful when cleaning it, because you can scratch it by rubbing too hard with a paper towel or something, but that was more my fault than anything. With the shield I can ride in the bright sun without needing sunglasses, and it also allows enough visibility up to dusk (not for night riding, but you can still see a bit with it during the night). With this shield you look like something out of Tron... which is pretty cool. Love it and would recommend it.

Light smoke is VERY light
Purchased the Light Smoke replacement face-shield and it was lighter than I had expected. Honestly with both face-shields off and side-by-side (clear and light smoke), they looked almost similar. It wasn't until installed you noticed the darker tint and also the helmet isn't as easy to see through if someone is looking at you with your helmet on, which is part of the reason I went with a bit of a darker tint.
Other than that sunglasses fit great under the helmet so I generally will do that.
Like everyone mentions, replacement of the face-shield(s) can be tricky and you'll find yourself SOL should you crack any of the plastic bits removing the old faceplate. Careful, even pressure is your friend with those circle snaps. Not the most expensive helmet but great for the price in my opinion and with cheap replacement parts and above average functionality, provides a great value.

Shield looks good but should include the pivot hardware
The AFX FX-39 so far has been a good helmet for the price and looks even better with the mirrored shield. One downside to the helmet is the chintzy pivot hardware. The replacement shield requires you to snap off the shield pivot and snap it onto the new shield. This requires some patience, careful use of a flathead screwdriver, and some luck (to keep from breaking it). Do yourself a favor and order the pivot kit listed below. It'll make a shield swap go faster, and provide a backup in case it breaks.

Looks cool...
Looks cool, but like others mentioned does not fit as well as original. You're better off keeping the helmet stock and saving your money for a helmet that has better faceshields.

Not bad but could be better
I have the silver mirrored faceshield and the first thing is that the mirror didn't add too much to the bill, which is nice. Sometimes mirrors can double the price. Anyway, there are some minor imperfections in the silver coating but it doesn't distort my vision or is overly apparent until you look up close. I agree that it isn't as easy to swap as some other shields, but it's not that hard. The helmet comes with tools to take the beak off and put the new shield on. Be careful with the small black plastic washers. They'll pop off and most likely get lost. I also found that the replacement doesn't fit as snuggly into a seal as the original, but it's not that bad.

The dark face shield fit perfectly. It was a little tricky to change with the included helmet tool though.

Great look and function... could be better instructions
I really like this helmet and the new visor (mirror) looks and works great. I'm glad I spent the money on this instead of the big dollar ADV helmets. The visor is kinda tricky to change out but if you're careful, it's not hard after the first time. Go slow and watch for the small plastic part to fly when you first pop it off. They could/should include instructions... might be a good youtube video idea??
Over-all I love this helmet (I have 6 others) and the visor options.

Excellent product
Great tint level. Very clear optics. The only downside is the way it attaches the helmet. Very cumbersome to change shields.
