You get what you pay for...
$150 is not a lot to spend to protect your head and look good. If you're just getting into riding or if you're buying your first dual sport helmet, this may be a good option. The shield works well although it fogs up immediately in colder weather. Vision is good as well as breathability. Style is cool although it's quite a big helmet - I couldn't fit it in one of my side cases that I can usually get my other full face helmets in.
It has no room for a Bluetooth device - if you use a sena, you'll have to cut out foam for the ear pieces.
It's not particularly comfortable and there's no way to adjust the cheek pads.
It's a pretty noisy lid.
The chin strap is a latch system which makes it quick on and off.
It looks good. It's cheap. So far there's not too much buffeting at high speed.
Overall...I wish I had spent a few dollars more, gone with an arai and been totally covered on all bases. But again it comes down to what you want to spend.

this helmet picks up alot of air, but i hear music with my right ear phone blocking half the air intake and exhaust sound, so i dont notice the air sound at all. looks great one of the reasons i purchased this helmet along with mirror visor:)

Great starter helmet.
The AFX FX-39 is my first motorcycle helmet, so I don't have any experience with nicer helmets or other budget helmets. I own a dual sport (Suzuki DRZ-400S), and I've spent much of my 3 months of ridding on dirt. The gap between the windscreen and shell is well sealed and keeps dust out of it quite well. However, I haven't really seen how it holds up to being roosted. The paint on the helmet hasn't held up amazingly, it's been scratched in a few places revealing shiny paint below the matte black finish. I don't mind this personally and I haven't been very kind to the helmet either. That being said, other than that overall the helmet has held up quite well. One con of the helmet that I would note is that the helmet is very loud at high speeds. Once again I haven't used a helmet that claimed to excel at this so I have no way of comparing it to anything. Maintenance wise, taking the pads out and the windscreen and visor off is pretty straight forward. I'd definitely recommend this helmet to anyone who planes to do dirt riding and short trips on the road. I'd say that if a rider was planning to regularly hit speeds higher than 50-60 mph for more than an hour or two, they should look somewhere else. That is assuming that touring helmets truly make a big difference in wind noise reduction.

This helmet is excellent for people who 1. have very large heads(me) 2. Are just getting started motorcycling and don't want to spend too much on gear at the moment/can't afford high end helmet right now(me)
The paint job on it looks even better than I imagined. I love the feel of being a Spartan from Halo.
The fit for the cheek pads were a little painful at first but after about 10 hours or so of wearing it they have broken in and don't hurt anymore. Probably also caused by me being a big guy. Everything else fit perfectly 26" is perfect size for the 3xl.
Between this and the Camo Vinyl on my KLR 650's fairing I get a lot of people looking at me.
Pretty much for the price I couldn't ask for more, helmet feels great, looks great, and definitely bang for your buck.
The onlyyyy problem I have is that the mirrored visor is out of stock which isn't really a problem "per se".

This helmet is great, it fits nicely and is simple and quick to out on. My only problem with it, since it is getting colder, is that I'm not entirely sure there is a chin skirt available. Changing lenses on it isn't extremely quick, but still simple to do. The vents seem fine, but kind of flimsy if you want to open and close them a lot, thus I just leave them open.

My First Helmet! Perfect!!!!
I'm new to riding ATV's so I wanted to wait until I had several rides in to write an accurate review.
I wanted a helmet with a shield. The shield is great and it doesn't fog up. The helmet is a little heavy but I feel well protected.
The fit was spot on to my measurements. I had tried on a HJC helmet and knew I needed an oval and not a round helmet. Thanks to Revzilla I knew this was an intermediate oval :)
