Troy Lee 7850 Hot Weather Armored Short Sleeve Shirt
This Product is not worth its price
I ordered this item as i was looking for a descent protection with style and i was disappointed with both.
I don't think that this shirt would even give a good protection on a cycling accident or from falling while standing still from the bike's height.
As for the style, the actual product does not even look close to the one pictured above, it's bulky, thin, not sleek at all and has too many connections between the protecting pads.
To Sum it up, it's ugly and overpriced.

I purchased this item because it seemed like it would give me slight to decent protection, as well as style (which was what i was focusing on.) Although it does seem to give a decent amount of protection, I doubt it'll be all that great in a crash. The main disappointment was in the style. In the picture, it seems like the shirt is thinner than it is. Actually, the shirt is a little bulky and not even sleek as the picture makes it out to be. Compared to the picture, It looks ugly! This was an overpriced item.

Good product and I'll use it but seems kinda cheap.
So I ride a 2014 KTM 350 excF and do a lot of off raod type riding and i was kind of expecting a much tougher armour. The padding seems kind of cheap and not sure how it will hold up in a crash. The armour is very low density foam pieces stuffed into various pockets in the shirt. I was expecting foam for padding but a much denser heavier foam, but that being said the armour is advertised as hot weather gear so maybe I should have ordered something else. I will still wear it regardless. I usually wear large shirts and ordered the large size and it fits great.

Light weight protection
After breaking a couple of ribs during an unplaned get-off while trail riding, I was looking for some additional protection that wouldn't add too much bulk and could be worn under my normal riding jacket (CE armor in shoulders, elbows and forearms). Some riding buddies have armored jackets (Fox titan) so I tried both. The Troy Lee really fit the bill. it is like a protective t-shirt with just enough additional protection along the chest, ribs and sides. Very light weight and comfortable — almost forget it is on. I use it when I will be riding off-road as an additional layer of protection - under my normal mesh jacket. Fortunately I haven't had to test its efficacy yet — give me time...

Cody B: I was wanting versatile protection that would cover chest/back/shoulders. I preferred under-the-shirt and this fit the bill very well. The fact that it also protects the ribs is a big bonus. Its worth noting though that the stock photo DOES NOT do this product justice. It wasn't until I found non-retail photos that I fully understood what this product was.Oct 4, 2013
A shopper asked:What is the protection level of the armor plates? Is it made of soft foam, or harder flexible plastic? I need something that is really good at impact resistance and slash/abrasion resistance. I'm thinking about using this and a pair of the armored shorts for full-impact martial arts training and possibly as under-clothes protection for security events. Oh, and motorcycle armor too.
robert c:Hi I tried a baggy grey t shirt over the armor. Doesn't look bad but it is definitely somewhat noticeable, probably not while riding though (I assume you ride street) Kinda makes you look buff (if you aren't already haha) I wouldn't wear it out to a bar or anything but it looks fine and hugs the body pretty well. im 6'2 190 and got the large and it fits pretty snug. I only ride mx and trails and actually wear a Dianese wt pro over the top of it and together they are great protection (little on the hot side but i can't afford to get hurt) This shirt is great because it is one of the few that i've found that has armor virtually everywhere, protecting any weak spots in my dainese over-armor (especially ribs and stomach-I don't want to be gutted) Hope this helps! Ryan also, side note, i also bought a pair of alpinestars bionic shorts and then returned them for forcefield pro action shorts only because they had better bum protection but i highly recommend either one- and they are barely noticeable under semi-baggy shorts. :)Sep 22, 2013
Robert L:I think it would be noticeable. The armor adds definite bulk. I sometimes wear it under a baggy MotoX shirt while riding a bicycle in cold weather, and I don't think people think "he's got armor under there" as I'm riding by. But I think if I was just walking around that way and people really looked, it would look like something is underneath, especially from the bulk it adds in the chest/torso. Overall I like the armor, and the matching pants are especially good. Hope this helps.Sep 22, 2013
