Cobra Exhaust started designing and making metric cruiser exhaust systems in 1988. Though the first was made for the Yamaha Virago 750, soon a comprehensive catalog of pipes was developed for the young and growing cruiser market. Two Honda motorcycles, the Magna and Shadow were fitted with custom exhausts in time for the Dealer Expo in 1994. The Editor and Chief of Cycle World saw the bikes at the show and wrote a story that ran in late spring. This article along with the display of the bikes at the expo helped launch Cobra Exhaust Pipes headlong into the metric cruiser business. Today, Cobra is a market leader in producing exhaust systems.
