I grew up in the city with a single mom who didn’t learn to drive a car until I was in high school. I think it’s safe to say that no one expected I’d fall for bikes. The first time I rode a two-wheeled motorized vehicle, I was in Italy. It was a Vespa and I was riding three-up with my cousins to the beach. We were wearing flip flops and bikinis. Then, my uncle took me from London to Bath on his VFR, and so the fascination began.
At the end of the day, I guess what made me get a bike was missing them when I wasn’t on one. Nothing is worse than waking up on a beautiful day bikeless. Now I live with my boyfriend and our bedroom is attached to our garage. Next to the CB, there’s also a ‘97 EVO and a ‘74 Shovelhead, both hardtailed. Waking up in the morning, what’s that smell? Bikes, bikes, bikes. And yes, you can also catch me clinging on to the back of a chopper like a little koala bear.
I’m looking forward to adding to our lineup. I’m thinking about hardtailing a Triumph but I also might try something new, like actually new, and get something sporty. Did I mention I also want to play in the dirt? We’ll see what the winter brings.
In the meantime, I’ll be tinkering around in the garage learning how to chop, weld and build. Hey, we all have to start somewhere!
Favorite thing about working at RevZilla: Talking to those old heads who have ridden into their 70s and won’t quit any time soon. You folks know how to live! But in general, what’s not to love about RevZilla? I work with rad people and get to learn about bikes. Not too shabby for a girl’s first foray into the ‘9-5’ world.
