The latest iteration in the mid-level race category helmet from AGV is their new Grid Helmet. Though it remains fairly similar to its predecessor the AGV T-2, the Grid takes the awesome basic features of that helmet and builds upon it with some nice upgrades.
The AGV Grid Helmet keeps the same SSL fiberglass/carbon/kevlar shell in 3 sizes, and the Integrated Ventilation system, with the air channels formed into the outer shell, and its fully removable washable interior. Improvements on the Grid include a newly reshaped interior with a combination of Cool-Max and Dri-Lex fabrics, and redesigned trim features for greater comfort and fit. The Extra Quick release system for the visor has been improved as well, for easier and quieter use.
Overall, the Grid Helmet is a lightweight ECE-approved helmet that takes much of its design cues from the GP-Tech (the flagship of the AGV line), but in a more affordable package. Unsurprisingly, Rossi couldn't keep his fingerprint off this helmet model. Check out the AGV Grid Sun & Moon graphic for an extra dose of Italian.
